SirReno reacted to Daniel_1104 in 1 mouse and keyboard but 2 computers
I got it and so far I haven’t noticed any input lag so if it has any it’s very minimal

SirReno got a reaction from kirashi in Upgrade required?
I would go for the i7, just cause if you get the z97 and OC you might still have bottleneck, increasing to 32 wouldnt be a large improvement since for videogames what matters is the VRAM, unless you are playing something extremely heavy,
Thats my opinion but im not a pro,
PD: Woah

SirReno reacted to Fasauceome in AMD and AM4, how long?
Isn't it so nice how these increments all match up so well? Also I hope they do the same thing where there's overlap of socket compatibility and some am4 CPUs work with am5 motherboards and come versa, like the old am3/am3+ days. I bet some people would like to use their ryzen 5 2600 with ddr5 and such

SirReno got a reaction from r2724r16 in Specs needed for a small home file server?
i would buy a raspberry pi and connect some storage to it hahaha,
By getting better parts you will increase the speed of it, but depends on the files tbh, if you are going to be uploading txt files, then i dont think you need something powerful, if you want to have fast access to this home server, i think you should worry more about the network card
-
SirReno reacted to emosun in Specs needed for a small home file server?
if i were you , i'd just add that 750gb drive to your main rig and share it on the network.
becuase whatever you buy for 25$ will be slower than the free option you currently have.

SirReno reacted to Jtalk4456 in Ways to retrieve an NCIX Invoice
As a good solution, have a folder in your email for receipts, depending on your email client a subfolder for each quarter of each year. When you get a receipt email from anywhere, put it in the folder of when the warranty/return period expires. Every quarter/year, you delete folders that are out of date

Partly joking and partly serious... it's probably floating around on the sketchy areas of the internet and you could get it that way.

SirReno reacted to Electronics Wizardy in SD Card refuses to reformat, and data doesn't delete
Probalby a bad card, they normally go read only when something goes wrong. Id just get a new card. You can't really fix it.

SirReno reacted to IridescentExia in Has anyone here got a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification? Are they worth doing?
Nah it's cool, I get what you mean, you need to know how to apply these kind of things in the real world otherwise they are pretty useless, In my case my degree has helped me prepare for a career towards data entry, advanced report writing and the like so I guess having formal certifications rather than saying I used the Office software at uni can only help me further

SirReno reacted to mr moose in Has anyone here got a Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification? Are they worth doing?
I really wanted to make a joke about psychology and an office certification both being useless accreditation's in today's world, but not matter how I wrote it it sounded unfunny and came off as ignorant.
Seriously, if it's free and you have the time then why not. It only adds to your resume.

SirReno got a reaction from Mansoor Ahmad Khan in Laptop To PC
you could still tapke them out, tho you might damage the part in the process, and im not sure if they will fit on a pc motherboard for the sockets.

SirReno reacted to TVwazhere in New PC build (Streaming, Adobe Cloud, Autodesk)
No problem! Especially with rendering stations (being the owner of one for work) running a render than can take multiple hours is bad enough, but having a system thermal throttle is just that much worse! Everything else was solid though.

SirReno reacted to XR6 in New PC build (Streaming, Adobe Cloud, Autodesk)
This should do the job well. 1st gen Ryzen is still great and you won't really notice the difference between 1st gen and 2nd gen ryzen for now.

I could see to keep cost down. Not a horrible idea as you probably wouldn't use the function row fast like you are typing anyways

Physically, yes. And the server wouldnt be a top of the line storinator 9000, since their data hasnt gone over 5 terabytes in the 10 years of operation.

SirReno got a reaction from Delevatti in How can I know what hardware I need?
Hello everyone, currently investigating a little for a customer, this customer wants to have a server locally on the store she has, but i dont know how can i select the hardware.
She needs to have at least 30 active connections (preferably 60 for quality/performance and those connections will use the server really heavily, since they will be uploading hundreds of photos and/or some videos per hour, also, thanks to the photos & videos, they need to have about 5 TB of storage;
What hardware should i investigate in order to cover those needs and what do i need to know if i need to set everything up myself?
So far we were considering on getting a workstation and setting it as a server with linux and xamp (we havent investigated a lot), so any help is appreciated.
Consider that money is not a problem nor electricity bill nor environment.
