PrinnyExplodes got a reaction from varrys in 3080 -> 4070ti for power/heat savings at 4K?
You know the 4070 ti only performs as good as a 3080ti or 3090 at 4k. And the memory bandwidth is so bad on the 4070 ti, if you use a video editing program it performs like an RTX 3070 ti....I am not even joking. Even in Linus's review, he showed how bad it is at Davinci Resolve where an RTX 3080 beats it by like 15%.

Also i noticed that the RTX 4070 ti performance is skewed favourable towards older games. As newer games require more memory bandwidth, the performance of the RTX 4070ti becomes worse and worse. At 4k it performs like a 3080ti and at 1440p it performs like a 3090ti.

Also Nvidias next big gpu technology to join RTX and DLSS is BaM (Big Accelerator Memory), that will be introduced soon. It is where the GPU bypasses the CPU to access the SSD to completely eliminate any loading or buffering. Memory Bandwidth is vital to BaM's performance. I would completely avoid a 4070ti or wait until BaM comes out to see the full effect of memory bandwidth limitations.

This advice is probably not favourable but if you are having issues with 4k performance, even my friend with an RTX 4080 complains about 4k performance in non-DLSS games and says he should have gotten a RTX 4090. If you are expecting an 80fps+ in non-DLSS ultra, a RTX 4090 is the only option

better offerings from lenovo with a 5600h + 3060 for 1300$ or less but you get a laptop that has a much nicer screen and is overall built better.

Loved the idea of having a guide with some "IRL" reactions to the display of the chromebooks inside the store

None of these companies deserve brand loyalty. They are both scum. Buy what is good value. Go past the label.

PrinnyExplodes got a reaction from Haro in GPU Problem with PC games
You will have to DDU and try older drivers. If you are trying to use a Freesync monitor with G-sync, a lot of the flickering issues have to do with your GPU and driver compatibility. You will notice it will come and go with driver updates and every driver update I have seen, has someone complaining "my g sync not working and flickering". Those who are unlucky have to roll back to previous drivers and try again when the next drivers roll out.

EDIT: But you have a G sync monitor so I am confused why this issue is happening lol. I thought it only happens to use freesync monitor users.

No your cpu isn't bad. Userbenchmark is the shittest program. It says and i3 from 4 years ago performs better than a 3950x 16 core. I wouldn't trust that shit with a ten foot pole.

wcctech hmm. I still remember the RTX 2080 will be only $400 and have 50% more performance than a 1080ti and the fake rumors that they made up themselves to gather traffic to their website that was fairly young at the time.

I have learned three things about AMD gpus.

    #1 Fresh install of Windows
#2 Never update drivers unless you have to. Keep the last known stable drivers and don't touch it until you have issues with a game.
#3 Like Vega it literally takes over a year to make the drivers "presentable"

PrinnyExplodes got a reaction from Belac F in Linus on Live Stream (I've been thinking of retiring)
This is probably for the best. You get serious youtuber burnout, tired, want to do other things in life...etc. Your kids are always number 1.

Linus Media Group can now be self sufficient without Linus. But besides Anthony, there aren't enough people who are "passoniately geeky" beyond belief in LTT.

Riley, James and Dennis do awesome work on Techlinked and it is self sufficient. Techquickie is also self sufficient.
BUT Linus Tech Tips is not fully self sufficient.
Anthony can do hardware reviews and benchmarks.
Alex can do the more "do it yourself" ghetto don't try this at home topics.
But he solid actor behind it was always "Linus Sebastian, a computer geek who worked at NCIX".

If you are planning to retire Linus, you need to bring back Luke for those other "topics" and maybe to fill some of those gaps. At least until you find other staff members to fill that gap.

Also when you do retire from youtube, please continue the WAN show, just for fun and maybe do CES or Computex and LTX or whatever you feel like. Even if you are slowing down, keep some minor activity on youtube like how Gordon Mah only appears at CES and Computex yearly.

I had problems with back in February with it, but updated it, and now it seems better. The program itself still needs a better UI. I also looked for the version, but it still has 0.0.0.0 as the version. I also have ICue installed and they are not messing each other up. I did have a problem with ICue not saving during a restart, but all is good now. There are times I look at my corsair AIO before windows starts and it will be in rainbow mode, but once windows starts, it goes back to normal (White, -slow pulse).

I would definitely use that uninstaller, and try installing 1 thing at a time.

PrinnyExplodes got a reaction from xAcid9 in RTX 2070 Super Or Radeon RX 5700XT
I would wait for 5700xt custom coolers. Why?

    1.) You could save money

In Canada you can buy the zodiac twin for $659.99 or the XFX founders 5700 xt for $519.99 .....it is a $140 difference... At 1440p, the 5700xt is a whopping 3% slower than a 2070 super and at 1080p it is 8% slower.

2.) You could use the money you saved to actually get more FPS than just buying a 2070 super......

You could actually sell your 2600 for some dirt cheap amount like $130 and combine it with the $140 you saved to get a Ryzen 3600 ($264 in Canada). Get a 17% fps boost in games from the Ryzen 3600 alone (that is with using ddr4 3000 CL15 or 3200 CL16). Pair that with your 5700xt and laugh. (literally it would be like you paired your 2600 with a RTX 2080)

3.) People have discovered how to unlock to overclock now. Are able to achieve almost 10-14% more performance from stock with "custom coolers"
Just one day ago a youtube user showed a regular 5700, how to unlock it and then overclocking it to almost 5700xt levels of performance....using a R9 290x cooler from XFX.....Apparently the boards and vrm layout of the navi cards are not much different than the R9 200/300 series
If a 5700 can almost reach 5700xt levels of performance with a custom cooler, how far can a 5700xt be overclocked to?
