I know, seriously it's ridiculous! I guess PC gaming is generally more expensive so people shy away from it, along with the fact that pretty much NO marketing is done towards PC games, just Xbox and Playstation (don't even get me started on the WiiU).

We recently took the AP test for my AP US History class, meaning we literally don't need to do anything the rest of the year. Our teacher allows us to use the schools projector in the auditorium so we can play FIFA on like a 50 foot screen.
So I brought my new gaming PC in the other day and hooked it up to the projector, and I kid you not, the ENTIRE freshman and sophomore classes came to admire the PC, because nobody knew that you could play games on a PC.
Needless to say I felt like a god that day.

Like @Jurrunio mentioned earlier, I can imagine the resale value being wayyyy lower than a traditional gaming card, It'll be cool to see how this all plays out in the next year (1070s sub-200 possibly?)
 
Maybe we'll just end up all throwing away our gaming cards and becoming slaves to mining 

This is why Mining GPUs dont fix anything and actually end up making things worse

Why bother when mining cards only cost a few dollars less, if not more? Mining cards' resell value is much lower.

I guess if you were extremely strapped for cash. But if we are being honest... If you can afford a laptop that has a Thunderbolt 3 port and a $200 GPU enclosure, you can swing a few more bucks for the normal version of the card.

If you can find someone stupid enough to buy them that is
 
And yes, it will work, but only on the laptop's screen.
 
I'm actually curious myself on whether adding a capture card besides a mining card will work?

It could be done but mining cards sell in batches of 10.  I'm actually thinking of picking up a mining 1070 in a year or so for the extra computation al power if they sell for cheap

If I can track down a mining card for cheap maybe I'll do some comparisons! I think it would be interesting to see for sure.

Honestly i think its totally possible and is worth a try and if it doesnt work you can always try to get the money back by mineing
