Liquid metal does not last long.  Just use high end paste.  A few degrees higher when it’s working won’t make a difference versus having these crazy temps every couple years and having to re-delid it.

if one core is overheating and the rest are good, then its definitely a problem with the paste under the IHS from the delid. You will need to delid it again and redo the paste.

with XMP enabled in your BIOS they will attempt to run at 3200mhz CL16 @ 1.35v.  Without XMP enabled (or its called DOCP on some motherboards) it will run at 2133mhz @ 1.2v.  XMP is "overclocking" and they "auto" overclock to those speeds (if board and CPU memory controller allow for that frequency) when you set XMP/DOCP in your BIOS settings.

So example, if you download CPU-Z and take a look at the Memory tab - what is the NB frequency right now with your current single stick?

noctua nuff said. But... I hate the h100i v2. sell it and get a noctua d15.

agreed. AIOs in general are gimmicks. 240mm AIOs on full fan speed is similar to d15 but at much louder decibel. In addition, if you do 8hour testing, 240mm AIOs temp continues to go up since water has hard time letting go of heat. Air coolers are far superior to AIOs IMO.

Not the original commenter, but my 2 cents is air cooler lasts longer because they're generally more versatile, not many point of failure.

    1) stick to 2x8gb (you do not need 32gb, in the case that you are doing 3d stuff, get a new rig)

    2) rams do not improve your FPS, it improves frametime (frametime is the staibility of FPS presented so it yields are more console like exp. *just prevents frame drops)

    3) just get something cheap since mhz/ timing is not going to yield a tremendous diff. My only suggestion is that the real speed of the ram equals 200.
ex) 2400mhz should have CL 12 minimum. 2666 13cl minimum.

what? 1050ti for gaming? contrary to many member's optimistic view, 1050ti will most likley give you 45~50fps on 1080p medium. Games will be slightly unplayable and annoying unless you play non-demanding games like minecraft.

xbox one controller should be able to work through blue tooth and so can the switch pro controller  but I hear it has issues with latency could be fixed no but these 2 are the my favorite controller currently

    I recommend the 8Bitdo Sn30 Pro+ : https://www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-Sn30-Pro-Bluetooth-Gamepad-Sn/dp/B07T8JKVNT/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=sn30%2Bpro&qid=1569304887&s=gateway&sr=8-3&th=1

It has detachable hand grips, can be used with android, switch or pc, and is pretty comfortable IMO

3200 at minimum. Usually 3400 is the sweet spot between performance and price

just cuz i am bored, here is the reason why you should get a quality ram.
It helps with frametime. Frametime is the measure of frame consistency. So having a faster ram allows you to display fps more consistently on a more evenly spread interval.

Gimmick as in I'd rather have it replaced by something cheap? Yes. Those care about audio enough will have their seperate DAC PCIe card already.

    two things here buddy~
First, you want to check the ram compatibility by browsing through the Aorus M B450 QVL.
Second, you want to buy a matching stick of ram.
Third, mhz does not matter much. You need to account for timing as well.

Here is a table for ideal timing and mhz. obviously tighter timing yields better results. However, for gaming, if the divided numbers come out to ~200+ then it is good enough.

    2400/ cas 12
    2666/ cas 13
    3000/ cas 15
    3200/ cas 16
    3400/ cas 17
    3600/ cas 18
    3800/ cas 19
    4000/ cas 20

Although ram wont give you a greater fps, it does prevent 1) framedips from happening and 2) displays frames more consistently  so you get a more console like experience.

no. go for the sniper x. the difference is the timing and the overclocking headroom. I am guessing that LPX is better overclocker.
G.Skill is kind of slow cas 19 and it is a 3600mhz. This is slightly below the ideal gaming speed but at that price, its not bad. Vengenace at 3600 cas 18 isn't amazing either. Corsair is overpriced. Go with Gskill.

Cheapest solution, re-paste.  Check temps after doing this.  If temps are still bad, get a new cooler, the fan on the stock HSF may be worn out.

Srnewbee got a reaction from Myk3_Fury in Is there such as diminishing returns for RAM?
in terms of games, diminishing return is 16gb. the speed is

    2400/ cas 12
    2666/ cas 13
    3000/ cas 15
    3200/ cas 16
    3600/ cas 18
4000/ cas 20 (you get the point)

although the divided numbers are same, 4000 cas 20 is faster than 2400 cas 12.

Srnewbee got a reaction from crazysteve240 in Overclocked PC turns on, then off, then on again and boots into windows.
yup its the overclocking problem. To be more precise, its the ram timing problem. Your motherboard is experiencing difficulties with the current ram timing. But this is nothing too unusual so you should not be worried. Try turning XMP off then it will boot smoothly.
