Haha. thanks...it is pretty diverse. These posts are always fun.
The Deville would be a lowrider.

The Demon is insane. But, I would rather have a non Demon for more street purposes.

And yeah, the Performante is a good idea. Should have been more specific in regards to that model.

You can add a hub like the Silverstone pwm fan hub or have y splitter cables that will allow you to run more than one fan per slot.

Grimfrost769 got a reaction from BluJay614 in Would mining specific nvidia cards actually work out well and appeal for miners
People are taking out large loans and utilizing credit to buy pallets of the damn things. This will only make them more money and will not ease up on people buying cards for mining rather thsan gaming. All the miners will just buy all those, too. They will see ROI in a few months and then profit. They continue to tap out the gaming card market until the perfect storm, if the bubble bursts. Which, I don't see that happening.

Actually, yes. I had a slight droop as well even with the backplate on the GPU. This air duct supports it slightly and also allowed the wires to be ran cleanly.

with 1400VA even if your computer is idling you won't be able to use it for more than 10 minutes with insane power saving plan, your router might last for 2 hours since it's only around 10W but only if everything else is turned off and the batteries are at 100%

    http://www.apc.com/shop/us/en/products/APC-Smart-UPS-C-1000VA-LCD-120V/P-SMC1000
that's 1000VA at 60%, should be enough for 5-10min with your current build, if you're getting a SLI and a bigger PSU then go for a 1500 one

if you need to use your rig more you should get your own diesel generator

Never buy piece by piece. Only the case, PSU, and cooler make any sense to buy ahead of time (unless there's a stupidly good sale) as anything else will ultimately trend downwards in price and be replaced by newer and better tech.

In this case it's better to wait given the prices of Pascal and Polaris.
Just wait for Volta and snag a card for its MSRP, rather than this overpriced GPUs that we have on the market right now...

I would get a 980/980Ti if you want something right now.

Grimfrost769 got a reaction from fear92 in Early 2018 has to be the worst time to build a gaming rig..
We all know of the GPU issues plaguing the community right now. This has people in fits! Miners buying multiple GPUs and cleaning out stock of big box stores. On top of that there is a scalping issue when a stock becomes available it is immediately sold out and relisted on a site with less traffic with a pretty good percentage markup. People are hoping the release of Volta cards will provide a relief. But, really...how much is that going to effect supply of previous gen cards? They are already bled out to the point people are holding their breaths and waiting for prices to come down for months. Some hope for March(not happening) and some think May-June, realistically.

Then you have the spectre and meltdown issues for Intel CPUs. Patches affecting performance of CPUs. Intel kind of being scummy about it. Intel went from “should not be significant” to “may initially be higher” to “significant” in the space of a week.

Compile all this with the already explosive growth of PC gaming popularity, crypto-currency boom, and memory shortages...andddd we have $1400 GTX 1080ti's that are already sold out within minutes maybe even seconds of being posted.

Is there a worse time to build a new rig?
