Bitcoin drops below $10,000 ?

Foxxer

After this insane inflation of PC parts.

Did the bubble burst? :o

Ethereum and Bitcoin

Bitcoin fell below $10,000 for the first time since November, as a sell-off in cryptocurrencies continued for a second day Wednesday.

The world's largest cryptocurrency was trading at $9,615.94 at about 9:38 a.m. ET on Wednesday, and was down 15 percent in the last 24 hours, according to CoinDesk data.

The last time bitcoin fell below the $10,000 mark was November 30.

The red-hot digital asset soared to a record high of $19,343 last month, but has since been on a gradual decline. At its current price, it is now down 49 percent from that all-time high.

More than $30 billion was shaved off the cryptocurrency's market value in the last 24 hours.

Watercooled probably.

I guess a lot of this has to do with governments disallowing/regulating cryptocurrencies?

I am against what it has done to this market and people that want to get into gaming that can't because a every single card is going for +15% above msrp. Or sold out.

the bubble hasn't pop up yet, you say it pop up when you see it losing half its price all of sudden... this is a normal effect of something whose worth is dictated solely by speculation.

Bubble might not have burst but certainly it has a puncture and is deflating. I only started mining Ethereum early December. Even after the drop this week it is over double what it was then. We can only wait and see what happens next.

The bank I work for has disallowed all cryptocurrency transactions. If the intention is to trade with them, we will not open the account, if it is discovered that people are trading them through the account, it will be closed without notice and we'll send a cheque to the customer.

Same goes with a lot of other banks in Australia. It's seen as a very high risk transaction that we do not want to be involved with.

I thought the whole point of bitcoin wasn't to involve banks or middle men anyway.

It was, but people still need a real account to put their money into, to buy stuff from places that don't accept Bitcoin.

We've had so many people wanting to open accounts specifically for Bitcoin

I'm so salty right now about crypto.  I got a 1050Ti because the 1060 was at like 400 dollars back in July.

Now I want to upgrade to a 1070 and the price is like 700 dollars now... it just keeps going up :/

I'm trying to build my first PC but I'm waiting for this bubble to burst so the prices come tumbling down.  I was hoping this recent crash would make them come down but they've only gone up as a result... I don't understand it.

1050Ti is actually quite powerful unless you're doing things at 4K then it tends to struggle a bit
