If they're just passing proof of concept, we're still many, many years away from any kind of retail product.
    I'd say 10+.

A bit of late news but scientists from the university of Illinois have found a way to create batteries that are carbon neutral and is even more efficient that lithium batteries. The battery is still in testing and no talks of commercialization has been mentioned yet.
Thoughts: There has been a lot of competitors against Li-ion batteries in recent years but nothing has really stand out, hopefully this would reach full production soon since leaving the Paris accord on climate change could leave devastating impacts on world weather and rising sea levels. At the same time I also suspect batteries like this will cost a fortune.

It's actually called misleading graphs, and is something that is taught not to do in elementary school.
The point of a graph is to represent the data visually, which means literally making them almost the same length when there is almost no difference between the data.
You're supposed to grasp that there ISN'T a big difference between them, otherwise it's just misleading.

You NEVER start a graph not at 0, and if you're trying to emphasize a marginal difference in data then you put a break in the graph and clearly point out to the audience that the difference is shown amplified.

yeah but at the same time

it creates a bit of a disconnect with the actual variance. In this video it would be more accurate to show that the results are very similar rather than one being superior, as there is actually little variance and therefore the gaps in the results are a bit artificial.

That has been a thing with graphs for a long time. It would make no sense to have them start at 0, you would not see a difference between them, they would all be pretty much the same length.

Having them start at higher up the scale augments the tiny differences between the numbers, so you can better grasp them.

if you ask blizzard where they stand on that debate are they going to say we need to be impartial and not take a side? no they are going to say they support minorities because it doesnt cost them

Shit guess i have to break up with my girlfriend who is black and I'm not or else blizzard is going to ban me for offending the KKK. Like seriously how stupid does blizzard think we are that we would believe that they banned him because they care so much about other people's feelings. No this is clearly about money and it's ok blizzard we didn't expect any different from you just don't insult our intelligence and pretend that it's something else. And I don't want to hear blizzard ever brag about how progressive and diverse they are again because this clearly shows that when it costs them something to stand up for marginalized people they won't do it. If you are just progressive when it's easy then you are not really progressive.

I bought 2 IBM Pingmasters, one which I converted to TMK (a keyboard programming software) and the other I harvested the switches and keycaps from to create a vintage styled 60% keyboard in an Aluminium case.

    things to come.
i decided to add argb under my case and got better casters, this mofo gona be heavy.....i might add an out side argb hook up too in case i want to add argb to my desk.
i order for rubber grommets to clean up my holes i made for the 120mm fans on the bottom as the cables will go under that case. i thought about adding plexy or some plastic to hide all the mb rubber grommets and all the holes i made trying different set ups.... so ill have to look at what's local for plexie galss or something and see what it cost. well im at it i might get a peace clear and add another window to the other side and i thought about making my own heat shield mb but i already got a mb that has it so it be for another pc or the asus mb. i still want the mark 1 z170 mb thow as i really like the 40mm fan on the north bridge for some reason. i thought about getting a custom 40mm argb fan gill made but i have not asked the guy yet if he can do it an what it cost. if not then ill have to get an 40mm fan adapter to like 120mm fan will look weird but w/e that my thing haha. (oh looks like the guys not selling on ebay anymore... hmm)
another thing is getting an 25mm thick clear 40mm fan and add an argb strip around it. that's how corsair argb ram cooler works just 2 50mm clear fans with an argb strip around them and a housing around that. i don't have a 3d printer so i cant make a housing so it will probably be geto. also got some u channel to clean up my cut in the front.

so it began. i had a commander pro with 2x 3 pin cables....but i need 5...so i was like well ill make my own.

part 1 buying every cable no wen to man.

20 mints with crimping and soldering i got 1 wire done... this was not going to work i suck balls!

part 2 buying every combo of DuPont connector out there...EVERY ONE!

I got 1 pin male to male / 1 pin  female to female / 1pin female to male / 3 pin male to male / 4 pin female to female / 1 pin pre terminal male to male / 1 pin pre terminal fe male to female / 1 pin pre terminal male to female  so i can just at the housing to them no crimping needed! which would have worked but how do you keep the plugged in to the lighting hub and commandeer pro and node pro. Gule? maybe build up a bump with nail polish? i just might cut of the 3 pin off of the 3 button controller that all the corsair fans come with. what a wast of money...but i can use some of the DuPont for leds for my pc and other project like Nintendo systems...might post a build log of that.

It's not enough water for a whole day. It's more "outing-sized"

We'll do a bigger one eventually, but personally I don't find there's a one-size-fits-all water bottle size so I plan to just use both sizes regularly once we get that sorted. Sometimes I don't feel like lugging around a huge thing.

8uhbbhu8 reacted to kirashi in Buyers of the LTT water bottle, do you regret it?
I see what you did there.  All new water bottles have a manufacturer smell / taste for some time period... that's how manufacturing works, similar to a new car smell, or the smell of burning plastic for the first 100 hours of running a new PSU. (something something if the burning plastic smell from your PSU doesn't go away, get the fire extinguisher.)

I suspect the real issue is that many people who've bought the water bottle have maybe never bought such an item on their own before, so they don't realize it needs to be washed... multiple times... before it's "clean" tasting? Not trying to stereotype or judge LTT viewers here - merely pointing out that anyone who's bought a beverage container previously should have experienced an off-taste prior to washing it a few times at least once before.
