Beddah reacted to DrMacintosh in 8700k benchmarks leaked.
at this point Intel's IPC is useless unless they can price it right and I don't think they can.

A refresh of a refresh of skylake is 40% faster? I think not...

No, that's not how it works unfortunately.

Beddah reacted to Gamerguy207 in When to stop using PSU?
Talk about overkill and energy waste a 1000 watt for a 6700k and a 980 ti heck 400 watts would cut it for that system
-
Beddah reacted to Zyndo in When to stop using PSU?
Yes. the system draws about 400W under full load.
There is no energy waste. Please learn about how power supplies work in computers before you say nonsense like that. There is nothing about a high wattage PSU which inherently makes it use substantially more power. In fact, since its a platinum rated PSU and I paid attention to its power efficiency curve when I bought it, under a full gaming load it usually operates in the 91-92% efficiency range, which is pretty damn high for a PSU in any system.

Beddah reacted to Max_Settings in Can AMD RIP the Core i9? - Ryzen Threadripper
TBH I’m not impressed. Yes threadripper is faster than the 7900K in most applications, and yes I’m still going to recommend it. But the the gains that it had in rendering applications were not like an massive crushing defeat where it should have been considering it has double the cores. Once again AMD’s poorer IPC compared to Intel is showing.

I've had seagate in all my builds. Never failed me, but tbh go for the cheaper one.

Beddah reacted to Morgan MLGman in Seagate Or WD
I wouldn't recommend Seagate. I had so many Seagate drives fail, both at work and at home, and had a great example of how "good" their drives are recently.
A small QNAP TS-410U broke at one of our customers, we took the device to diagnose what was wrong, turns out something on a drive bay PCB popped and the device didn't want to boot because of that. It turned out that three out of four drives died because of that electric shock, coincidentally three of those were Seagate (Barracuda LP) - the fourth one that survived was a WD Red drive.
I also personally had a Seagate 1TB Barracuda that died on me for no reason with only 14hours (!) of uptime - it wasn't brand-new but it wasn't used for over a year so it was basically new. So from my own experience, I highly recommend getting WD/HGST/Hitachi/Toshiba drives over Seagate.

Get an intel cpu, and consider upgrading your gpu to something like a gtx 1060 or maybe even a 1080. Right now I have a i5 4690k and a gtx 1060 6 gb and it works very well for me in games. But I would recommend a better cpu for you.

You really shouldve come to the forum before ordering, you shouldve bought a Ryzen cpu.
