Cpu overheating warning!

Hi,

I left my gaming PC for over a year as I have been working abroad and it has not been used.

I turned on my PC it worked fine for 15 minutes but had to reboot it for  the Anti-virus to update

Now in the Bios, its showing Cpu overheating warning, I have been using a Corsair Hydro Series H55 High Performance All-in-One Liquid CPU Cooler.

Do I just need to replace it and it should work?

Thanks :)

There’s potential for thermal compound to dry up if it has not experienced heating and cooling cycles for a very long time.

It’s not a bad idea to reapply it.

Agree, I had to do this with my test rig that had been unused for a while. Grab some half decent or better TIM and re-apply.

You should re-apply the thermal compound. The thermal compound can dry up over time so it is a good idea to replace once and a while.

Make sure your pump is still running and fans are blowing,  accumulation of dust?  it might need a good dusting.  also as everyone else has stated reapply thermal paste.
