Princess Luna got a reaction from Walterio in New GPU worse FPS
For what is worth it CS:GO is CPU Intensive so a new GPU shouldn't improve a whole lot since your CPU is fairly weak by today standards.
That said you changed architectures, from Fermi to Maxwell on the GPU so you should indeed DDU in Safe Mode and install the drivers fresh new.

Princess Luna got a reaction from DiceGG in dog thread
Well I also own two dogs I would like to share but I only have easy right now the photo of one.
Her name is Nyu and she's been with me since birth, I helped my friend with the birth of his dog that resulted in 5 puppies she was the one I picked for me, despite being a pitbull I promise I educated her with so much love and freedom that she's a true sweetie.

Princess Luna got a reaction from AudiTTFan in If you could only buy or recommend one PSU brand forever, which one would it be?
A thread about brand loyalty in some form? Gosh it has been a decade and things are still much the same here /s
It's totally pointless to ever consider brands over specific models, now you could just ask what's your favourite which becomes a personal matter, in which I'd say Corsair and BeQuiet has the products I'm most familiar with.

Princess Luna got a reaction from Jito463 in [UPDATE: Windows 10 TOO!] Microsoft forces Edge to be the only option for Windows 11 apps & widgets (Antitrust? What Antitrust?)
The only reason I use Firefox is so we don't end up in a Chromium monopoly. Alas I know this is a losing battle where only the inevitable is being delayed.

Princess Luna got a reaction from MultiGamerClub in [EOL] PSU Tier List rev. 14.8
@Den-Fi Hey hey, this time there was a reason to though, @LienusLateTips has informed he will not longer be available to manage the OP on the current Tier List and therefore asked someone else to take it forward on a new thread.
We have also tried to update the list and decided to keep it simple and straight forwards just for people to have a quick reference to check, as always anyone looking to purchase a brand new PSU is always advised to make their own proper individual threads for the best assistance possible from our community.
Cheers :3

Princess Luna got a reaction from Eschew in How Can I use a tiling Window manager as a Desktop environment on Ubuntu
I have prior experience with sway (i3 window manager ported to Wayland), and it was fairly straightforward to install it, and I've had packages like the app launcher, background, and everything installed in there. All the settings had to be edited via my text-only config files, though, no nice GUI menu to adjust the settings (as it was unimportant to me). You have to make sure all of the packages are installed and function properly before you actually switch to the new window manager / compositor.
Although this probably wouldn't be helpful to you as I use quite an obscure Linux distro (NixOS), my config file may give you an overall idea of what packages you can expect to need to install to get a more or less workable installation (obviously you'd need to find equivalents for your specific tiling manager): here's my sway.nix config file
I had to eventually switch back to gdm3 (GNOME) when I upgraded to 5.10 kernel series and open-source nvidia drivers (nouveau) just stopped recognizing my graphics card. I wish you the best of luck
EDIT:
Forgot to mention I also needed to bind a lot of the commands to some sort of keyboard shortcut, so when I press, for instance, Super+N, it opens the app launcher bar.

Princess Luna got a reaction from Mister Woof in 5600X or i5 11600k?
If all you'll do is game with a 1070 Ti just get an i5 10400F for cheaper than all alternatives, it'll still max out your GPU any ways lol

Princess Luna got a reaction from Wild Penquin in is it better to do a dual boot or use a software like wine for playing some video games
I personally dual boot. Wine/Proton are both still at a state of infancy, and a lot of games don't bother making dedicated Linux versions. A lot of games that happen to use weird dependencies, or anti-cheat would probably have issues and/or not run at all. Additionally you'll probably experience various bugs and issues which, if you're not very Linux-savvy, would be almost impossible to debug and fix. I also experienced quite a lot of lag and issues with VR when running under Linux.
I simply use Windows for all my gaming needs. Simply waiting for a minute to reboot is so much easier than trying to get stuff to run via Wine/Proton when it doesn't "just work".

Princess Luna got a reaction from Eschew in do you think having a bootable drive is a good idea for having both windows and linux
It certainly makes things easier to just have a second dedicated storage device for dual-booting purposes, and it also reduces the risk of you doing something wrong. I personally have Windows and Linux on two different devices exactly for the sake of this convenience, and not having to deal with any complicated partitioning.

Princess Luna reacted to sphixy in is it better to do a dual boot or use a software like wine for playing some video games
i dont really want to try to setup dual boot beacause i dont want to make somthing wrong and it make my pc unusable i think i will try wine and if it dont work i will try the dual boot
