Crunchy Dragon reacted to kelvinhall05 in General Intel HEDT Xeon/i7 Discussion
Running an X5650 on a Sabertooth X58. Currently stable at 4.2GHz, 1.35V, but want to see if I can get a bit more performance. Complete noob when it comes to any OC. Current settings (everything under the "DRAM timing control" dropdown is set to auto):
Anything immediately obvious that I should change? Any suggestions on higher OC or just more performance in general? Thanks!

Twitter: not a bad place to establish a way for people to find out what's going on with your company, or a simple way to contact you for customer service or something like that.
Discord: can be useful if your company gets big enough to have a community(see Corsair, XLR8, NZXT, etc). Not much use outside of that, though.
Pinterest: there can be professional presence here, but probably not for your field.
Instagram: similar use case as Twitter.
Reddit: for a company, not really much reason to invest in it.

Crunchy Dragon got a reaction from WhitetailAni in Is there any way to disable the RGB on an MSI graphics card without Dragon Center or other software running?
You could try unplugging the LEDs from the PCB on the card itself.

I'm really not sure how I got here. I don't even like Taylor Swift.

You're not old enough to have the account though, as ridiculous as it is, you probably can't fight this. Google won't care if your mum approves or not.

Crunchy Dragon reacted to Curufinwe_wins in New Ethereum ASIC miner announced, with hashrate equivalent to 32 RTX 3080
It's always an arms race. Obviously if it runs on one hardware, it will run better on some variant of more specialized hardware. Orgs changing algorithms to maintain the perception of value is the most hilariously backwards part of cryptowaste and one of the biggest actual barriers towards a non-niche application of the technology.

I play some of both. I love a good story, and you generally don't get that from multiplayer games.
I also enjoy PvP games probably too much.

Crunchy Dragon got a reaction from WhitetailAni in Appraisal: What would you pay? (USA)
I wouldn't pay more than $650-700.
The GPU holds most of the value, and 980s aren't exactly high end cards anymore.

Crunchy Dragon reacted to whispous in FBI hacks vulnerable US computers to fix malicious malware
I guess thank you, FBI - but what's extremely concerning to know is that the FBI can carry out unauthorised modifications to private software installations with full backing of the authorities (themselves) for essentially non-criminal evidence gathering reasons.
Scary world.

Crunchy Dragon reacted to Jtalk4456 in Idina Menzel will clean up space junk??
Summary
Astroscale just successfully launched their new ELSA-d magnetic satellite into orbit as a demo for their space junk cleanup effort.
Quotes and Thoughts
OK So Idina Menzel isn't working with NASA or Elon Musk yet. BUT this company had an almost-too-simple idea and showed the world what they can do... for all the new space junk at least.
Ok so they're gonna litter then pick it up to show they can lol. Weird flex, but OK
WHY we need Idina Menzel in orbit:
The echo will be PHENOMENAL!
Space Junk is a SERIOUS issue. On top of posing a risk to any satellite-based communication or service we've come to rely on, it could literally prevent us from accessing space in the future. In the case of bigger satellites, it can pose an impact risk for earth as well.
So what they're doing is attaching a docket magnet to any future satellites. If and when a satellite dies or stops communicating, Elsa can dock with it and release it into the atmosphere to burn up
It seems almost too simple a concept, but it might make a very big difference. The situation with space junk has gotten so bad as technology has advanced and more satellites are in orbit.
We badly need a solution for what is already there though.
There are a few ideas floating about
but
