Just watch the vid, they are different cards so clock speeds are not as relevant as they are when comparing one Nvidia card to another.

The RX580 is better in more games than the 1060. I think you are understanding how they work incorrectly. AMD and Nvidia cards are not made the same therefor saying that a Nvidia card with higher memory frequency is a better graphics card is an unfounded claim. Clock speeds do not matter when comparing the two directly. The best way to compare them is to put them head to head in games like Hardware Unboxed did, and as we can see the RX580 did better.

Why get that kit of RAM, pretty expensive considering 2x8GB 3000MHz kit of RAM can go for $148, also super overkill PSU.
Skylake and Kablake LGA 1151 socket is now dead as far as upgradeability, going for the much more expensive CoffeeLake platform makes more sense. But the best decisions is to go for a Ryzen 5 with the AM4 platform that AMD will support until 2020

TheDailyProcrastinator got a reaction from IAmAndre in Buying a laptop for Xmas, should I wait for Coffee Lake?
Considering the entire 6 core lineup won't actually be available for the desktop Z370 platform until like February-ish (despite being released), I would say no, to say it would arrive before Christmas would be like... well an early Christmas haha. I am on a waitlist for the i7-8700k and have been told to wait 2-4 months. So, if you see a good deal on a laptop and don't want to wait then maybe just buy one now.

Depending on the specs, U class i7 CPU's were previously 2 core and are now 4 core, which has been a significant upgrade, these CPU's were seen mostly in ultrabooks and MacBook pros. That being said it depends on which 6 core CoffeeLake CPU's from the mainstream lineup are integrated into the mobile (laptop) market. Unless it is a $3500+ laptop I doubt we will see something like the 6C 12T i7-8700 in a laptop, they will pull to much power.

But if it was me I would wait and see what comes out from the CoffeeLake lineup on the mobile platform because a 6C 6T CPU would be a big upgrade over the i7-7700HQ.

I've had one in my small ITX build as main system storage for 11 months, it gets used a lot. Only my OS and program files are not saved to it.
And in my main system I use it for just all my games to be saved on. I got that at the beginning of summer.

The new Firecudda came out last year and any new 2.5" Hybrid Firecudda would be their updated model.

I use the 2.5" 2TB Firecuda as my games storage hard drive in my two main systems and both run totally okay and it's been quite some time. Seagate has done really well quality wise over the last few years and they recently updated the hybrid Firecuda's, I'm very happy with them.

Corsair CX/CXM series are great and you can get them on sale for not too expensive for around 500W.
Also EVGA series PSU's are pretty good and also can be similarly cheap.
Both are good brands, get something with 80+ bronze certification if you can afford it (not much price difference realistically) and a 450-500 should be more than enough and will be reliable. Those are my two suggestions, anyone else?

I built my first PC my senior year of highschool and that was LONG before youtube, PCPartPicker and LTT where a thing, show them 1 good PC build video to show them how truly simple it is to assemble the parts and explain how PCPartPicker will tell you when things won't work together..

edit: Also explain how the components from the brands you've listed are of higher quality (with longer warranty periods) then the parts you find in a "prebuilt".
