What should I upgrade?

If you're still using an HDD as you're main/OS drive, upgrading that to a good quality SSD is the best upgrade you can make. The MX500 is great budget option. Looks like that's the best overall upgrade you can really make besides getting more RAM (which you should do as well if 8gb isn't enough). But SSD first!

I've had my PC for over a year and I want to make it faster overall, but I'm not sure what to upgrade next, the HDD (move everything into a SSD, and use my HDD for stuff i don't need to open often), the RAM (I play games like Rust which eat more RAM than Chrome, and I like having multiple programs open, so sometimes it's not enough) or even the CPU or Motherboard. My specs are in my signature.

Unless you want another 8GB of RAM it is a huge waste of money to get faster RAM, I would just get another 8GB stick of the exact same stuff you have. The biggest difference will come from moving your OS to an SSD.
