Aero 15x or XPS 15

I cant make my mind up. Ive looked extensively into both and leaning towards the aero 15x but im still not 100%.

 

The only reason I wouldnt have considered getting the aero 15x after watching and reading reviews was the price, but the i7-8750H, GTX 1070 model with a 144hz screen is on sale for £1800. A similarly priced XPS 15 would land me a 7700HQ paired with a 1050ti.

 

Im still considering the XPS due to all the great things ive heard about its build quality and overall usability just being nice.

 

Ill be using it for work and moderate gaming, needs to be portable too, hence these two options.

 

Can anyone offer their experiences/advice up? Im clueless.

I mean I love the durability, quality, and battery life of my XPS but the Aero 15 outside of battery life is the better gaming laptop.

It depends what you want more out of it

 

Gaming? Go with the Aero.

Battery life? XPS

Thats what I was thinking. In terms of gaming its gnna be things like overwatch, league, cs. Nothing TOO demanding, so it makes me lean towards the xps more.

 

Battery life wont be major, ill be plugging it in most of the time and then I think about futureproofing and how the hardware in the 15x will keep me good for a while, compared to what i get with the xps.

 

The hardware will hold up with the 15x, but is there a significant difference in any aspect otherwise that might sway me in the way of the xps more?

Ive heard more significantly more people singing praises about the xps compared the 15x. Im at uni for 5 years so Id like the laptop to last aswell. Its a difficult one man.

I use an XPS 13 for school and work, I can usually go 2 days without charging it while using it for 5-6 hours per day in classes. If that helps your decision

well, it does have thunderbolt... so you can upgrade to anything you want down the line. we're talking about something we can't help you with, the choise is in the end yours

Same my XPS12 has great battery life, it is now over a year old and I use it 5 days a week minimum.

Make sure you do a repaste (preferably LM) and undervolt CPU+GPU
