Interesting seeing the polarity on the choice of platform(s) and language(s). Obviously nothing is 100% this or 100% that—choosing the right tool for the job is key in all parts of the production; but I think the video does a pretty good job outlining the kind of person who'd fit in well in the current environment.

Let me know if you need a data pipeline or devops engineer.
I'm more than willing to help with the overall architecture and infrastructure, and when you want to start doing data pipelines with analysis or smart features associated with them, I'll be your guy.

linusforsell got a reaction from robeng in Website image "problem"
The solution depends a bit on how you've implemented the image.
The simplest way would be to use a background image, center it and set it to cover the available space.
.image-class-you-use { background-image: url(your-url); background-position: center; background-size: cover; }

Yes, the extension will keep you showing as online, and it will run even when chrome is closed, assuming you haven't disabled the relevant chrome setting.

Trillions of dollars spent on war, death and destruction- yeah, that's fine.
A few billion spent on advancing the Human experience through science and technology - SUCH A WASTE OF MONEY!
Screw it, Mars is looking pretty good right now. We could start again.

This looks like a brilliant way to have people accidentally break the phone's connectors, so that they can charge for repairs or sell more phones.

linusforsell reacted to PampaZiya in Unity VS Unreal Engine
Thanks, you have been very helpful ! I will try to do as much new things as I can and keep on learning!
Thanks everyone for the replies, you all game me the motivation needed to start using UE. I think I will give it a shot, if I found myself in it, I will keep on using it, if not I will continue using Unity.
Please keep the responses going, always nice to hear more of what people think and the more the discussion grows the better my understanding of the difference becomes
P.S : If this is still considered a report I will happily remove it

linusforsell got a reaction from PampaZiya in Unity VS Unreal Engine
Currently, and in the past, this spot has been dominated by Unity—but in a couple of years there will be a lot more quality resources for beginners available for UE as well (with them going Free and "open source", that stuff allows for fast user-base growth) to even the grounds.
But then again, who knows how relevant a game engine is a couple of years down the road? Many things can and will change.
Also, much of what a person has to learn about developing games is theory and how to work around issues, which is not bound to any specific engine. So, in essence, the most important part is to continuously step outside ones comfort zone in order to dig up some more knowledge, instead of getting stuck in a loop of doing the same things over and over.

Wacom's Bamboo line of products are great for people who have never used a graphics tablet before and want to start out. After that comes the "professional" Intuos line which are great, and finally the top end are the Cintiq tablet displays. Wacom is the industry leader for graphics tablets.
EDIT: http://www.wacom.com/en-us/products
Seems Wacom has merged their Bamboo tablets into the Intuos line of products and the Bamboo are now mainly multi-gesture touchpad devices and stylus to use with tablets such as iPads and Android devices.
Anyway, you will never be wrong buying a Wacom product. Can't say the same for non-Wacom tablets.

linusforsell got a reaction from omniomi in Drawing Tablets
Just buy any tablet from Wacom that fits your budget, anything else would be a waste of money. The entire Wacom lineup is considered great, so there is really not much of a point in looking elsewhere.
