Big-G reacted to W-L in Rather cheap magnetic leds
If you want a predone kit one like Cable Mod or Bitfenix Alchemy 2.0 use magnetic LED strips.

Big-G reacted to Enderman in AMD Hints that rx 480 has gtx 980/r9 nano Level Performance
yeah, and what it can do is use a huge amount of resources to cripple nvidia performance
which regular triple A games do not do since they dont need to have thousands of AIs running at the same time
and no, makes no difference if its DX11 port or not, it still coded for DX12 and utilizes DX12 featuers

Big-G reacted to RadicalAns in One 1080 vs Two 1070's in SLI
Probably not, but it'd be nice for future-proofing. Last system I built was 2009, so I tend to try and go long w/ a system.

Big-G got a reaction from RadicalAns in One 1080 vs Two 1070's in SLI
I tried that, but sometimes you run the risk of not being able to find the same model/make of display card for esthetics...
From the few examples of SLI benches from 1080's I've seen... it seems on good SLI profiles the gain is 90% average, much better than previous generations.
@RadicalAns, I think SLI 1070's might be the way to go if there's a budget involved, but SLI 1080's will definitely scale better and give more future proofing with DX12 mGPU support.

Still waiting on our Core sample from Razer.

Note: If this was posted in the wrong section, I apologise and request it be moved to the right one.
For @LinusTech & @nicklmg
Like the title says... if you can get access to a NUC6i7KYK Skull Canyon NUC. Give it a go in terms of Gaming (both using Iris Pro iGPU and possibly using a Razor Core (again if feasable)) and Content Creation capabilities (for like on the fly at events and such).
Really interested in seeing your view on it...

I'm pretty excited for this. Could be possible one of the most compact gaming solutions ever.

Big-G reacted to TacticlTwinkie in GTX 1080 on 34in 1440p display: Digital Storm Aura
well, yes 21:9 support isn't there in a lot of games, especially anything older than a couple years. But 21:9 support is becoming a thing on new releases. But when it is supported, and you have a system that can run that resolution at a good frame rate, oh boy is it good.

Big-G reacted to RyGuy99 in EVGA 1080 GTX FTW Specs are out!
I was pretty straight forward. The factory OC may or may not give you an idea of how OCing may go. It's one of many factors to consider before buying a card.

And that title, you got me.

Big-G reacted to AresKrieger in GeForce GTX 1080 and 1070 3-Way and 4-Way SLI will only work on select applications
Honestly I still don't see the point of 3/4 way sli, though it is also pointless to require a key to access a feature of your product.
Either way I'm surprised they did this stupid enthusiast key thing to begin with

Big-G reacted to Godlygamer23 in GeForce GTX 1080 and 1070 3-Way and 4-Way SLI will only work on select applications
In reality, this is the truth with SLI in general. Yes, most applications and games may support at least two-way SLI, but there are times where SLI compatibility is sketchy, or outright non-functional.

Big-G reacted to iiNNeX in RX 480 or 1070
Instead of speculating just wait for the cards to release and watch a few benchmarks.

Big-G reacted to thekeemo in GeForce GTX 1080 and 1070 3-Way and 4-Way SLI will only work on select applications
They are not affected at all since they dont use SLI

Purely for a clocks point of view, the Strix wins hands down...

Big-G reacted to cottontails2 in EVGA FTW VS SC VS ASUS STRIX (gtx 1080)
The Strix looks cooler (literally) in my opinion.

That includes us single card dual GPU people right?

Big-G reacted to BuckGup in EVGA FTW VS SC VS ASUS STRIX (gtx 1080)
Remember nothing is a guarantee. Both companies don't bin the cards so you are playing the silicon lottery.

Big-G reacted to palito in RX 480 or 1070
Agreed. The Indian dude keeps harping about the 480 being the cheapest VR capable card they will produce. Well currently the minimum for VR on AMD's side is the 390. So yes, the 480 will simply be a 390 replacement.
What's a dumb move is taking a step back with only 4gb of vram. 8gb will be available for an additional cost. Probably +$50.
So basically the 480 (8gb model) will be a cooler running 390 for $50 less

Big-G reacted to Megazero in RX 480 or 1070
This comparison happen because AMD doing the whole 2 480 vs 1080 things. Which is completely BS as for example 2 GTX 960 in SLI perform just a tiny bit behind a 980Ti and Titan X in most game, do we compare those (which cost about 500$ in total too) to a 1000$ Titan X?
