Apple has been pulling this stuff for years. Telling you to buy new units instead of SIMPLY REPLACING A BATTERY, soldering ram to motherboards, filing lawsuits to stop people from repairing easily repaired issues.

Those are some awesome prices considering the price just a month ago. I was thinking of getting a 2nd 980ti for sli since I already have one. I have a MSI gaming 6g. Would I need to get the exact card again? I probably would just for aesthetic reasons, but I was just wondering if one of the other MSI 980tis would work.

They would work, but you would have issues connecting the SLI bridge as they would probable have different heights.

Wireless mouse and keyboard. I had a wired mouse and keyboard with the pc, so not really sure if there would be issues with two wireless sets.

Yea it would work. I had mine rigged up like that before my htpc. Worked well other than running the long wire. I actually had 2 15 or 20 feet hdmi cables connected together with some connector that had two female ends.

Imo, Intel shouldnt be changing things after the fact. To me that would be like buying a car that can go 120MPH and the manufacturer saying, well we didnt intend for you to be able to drive the car that fast unless you paid extra and bought a different car so we changed some code on the ECM that limits the speed when you came in for an oil change. It is shady.

Yes, you could see temp differences as much as 30C if those artifacts are not removed.

I wouldnt give it to a school if the school districts are anything like the ones we have around here. 10k in property tax a year with 90% of it going to the schools, that they seem to be wasting. Imo, I already gave them 20 980s lol

No need to freak out about it. It's normal. If it stayed maxed out at 1050, or whatever your max core clock is, when you weren't using the GPU, then thats when you should freak out lol. They build in this downclocking feature so your GPU will stay cool when you arent using it.

You are not even showing what afterburner says your current clock speed is. If you did, it would probably show 450 Mhz as well. Your GPU wont go to full clock speeds unless there is a reason to, and idling at the desktop is not a reason.

The differences between dual and single channel isnt that huge in real world applications, unless you plan on running an APU. If you plan on upgrading later and only have 2 slots, I would definitely get a larger single stick so you only have to buy one stick when upgrading in the future.

I personally would get a board with M.2 for future upgrading if I were buying a board. While SATA SSDs are fast, they are currently bottlenecked by the SATA interface. If you do get a board with M.2, just make sure it uses the PCI interface and not SATA or you will be faced with the same limitation of 6 Gb/s. Many have not upgraded to M.2 due to the price, they are still relatively high compared to SATA SSDs but expect that to change over time. M.2(using PCI) is much much faster than SATA SSDs particularly if using the new NVMe interface.
