GTX 980Ti GPUs for less than $450?!

ClobberXD

While Pascal GPUs themselves are a good deal, their advent have significantly lowered the prices of Maxwell GPUs too, which have come crashing down by even more than 15%! Take for example the 980Ti - I chanced upon Newegg's Graphics Cards webpage, and was flabbergasted!

Here's the link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&IsNodeId=1&N=100007709 600565061

Double Whammy! Yummy! ;)

Nothing to see here ;)

Yeah, here on Spain you can buy a Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming 980 Ti for 485 euros. Shame I've already bought a 1080.

Definitely. The 980 Ti at 399.99 had the best price to performance at that moment.

And its still faster than a 1070 xD

Will need to stress it in Skyrim and fo4. If its anything like my 390x then it should be using 4.5GB.

Those are some awesome prices considering the price just a month ago. I was thinking of getting a 2nd 980ti for sli since I already have one. I have a MSI gaming 6g. Would I need to get the exact card again? I probably would just for aesthetic reasons, but I was just wondering if one of the other MSI 980tis would work.

They would work, but you would have issues connecting the SLI bridge as they would probable have different heights.

Now when we see Nvidia nerf the 980 Ti down to a GTX 680 in order to start selling the GTX 1070 :D

That's already happening. From what I've heard, 980 Ti users are reporting lower performance with the latest drivers

Can you show me some proof/benchmark of that? Because on every comparison I looked even when both cards are overclocked the 980 ti is about 10% slower up to being equal with the 1070...

Won't a 1070 perform slightly better for basically the same price as these cheap 1080 ti's though?

It will technically work... but the clock speeds, temps, power consumption, etc. will vary. And your PC will look like it drank a double dosage of Polyjuice Potion! xD

BTW, I love the MSI Gaming series!

I saw a used 980 Ti end at $330 on ebay, rotfl. Wish I had the cheese for that deal right now... screw the overpriced 1080/1070 cards.... the true deals are with the 980 Ti cards right now.

Look at the unigine valley leader boards here. The ones that are still reigning superior are the 1500mhz 980 tis. Even a 2.1GHz 1070 cannot best it.

And I have. And what I've seen are that the 980ti and 1070 are within a couple percent of performance, with the 1070 having a slight edge in certain games. Although these may not have been OC'd benchmarks... I'll have to look into that.
