    - I watched a bunch of budget phone reviews on YouTube, and they infuriate me! Reviewers spend 1/3 of the time rambling about the specs and 2/3 of time testing the camera.

    - If you're not gaming on your phone, 4gb of RAM seems enough.

    - Xiaomi is killing it lately. So yeah, you'll probably be fine with any of the latest Xiaomi phones around $200 USD. Anything below that price and you're really cutting corners with much worse performance and screen quality. It looks like you did your research.

    - I don't like custom ROMs. Nope! I don't know if your battery life will be better are worse! It's the same story with performance. It really depends on the quality of the ROM.

This link can help you find a good phone in your budget. the website can set a price limit, but the slider has options between 230 and 290 so I picked 290 for you. if the phone price is too much, you can always look at the other ones.

more ram is ALWAYS better. ESPECIALLY on a low end phone.
for 250, you arent getting much form the phone so anything extra will help a lot.
honestly, at that price, buy whatever you can that has the highest specs.
gsmarena.com can help you with this. <- use their phone finder.

I couldn't help myself, it's a super long weekend here in my neck of the woods (though it doesn't affect me as I'm retired) and I've decided to buy this game though I'd thought I'd wait a little....

I live across from a construction site and after drilling under my window at midnight, they gave me these babies as a "PR gift".

Nice bribe, but I'm still not happy about the construction

My iPhone Xs Max was stolen on Monday and I had no other phone to use so I took the opportunity to try out my first OnePlus phone. I've only been using it for about 15 minutes but so far I'm very impressed.

I’ve been on the fence for a long time about buying a pair. But with moving into a new house and not being able to crank up my volume anymore, I needed a wireless pair of headphones so I could listen to my PC from my bed.

Not being comfortable paying $250 for AirPods Pro, I picked up a standard pair for $145 at my local BestBuy.

The fit is perfect, they sound great, the case is convenient.

    Ah, multi monitor life.

Wanted a second monitor for a while as I wanted one that had better reproduction of color with a better contrast ratio than my 144Hz Samsung.

Finally upgraded my monitor, coming from a 1080p 21inch 60hz LG monitor from 2009, its definitely a massive upgrade. I picked the Omen X 35 because I really liked the design and the panel seemed good enough. Also the price I paid for it sealed the deal, £291 with free shipping on amazon. The monitor is basically brand new, it still had all the stickers and accesories, no cosmetic damage aside from the box.

    Inside the box
Monitor was really well packed with foam, which was nice.

Before purchasing I knew that the omen x 35 had some faults when it was first manufactured, so i was a bit concerned. Luckily I got the 2018 model with the updated firmware ax161 which fixed the ghosting, overshoot and gsync issue. My panel was really good, no dead pixels and the backlight bleed is very minimal, hardly visible. I downloaded an icc profile from a reviewer which improved the greys, but a friend is lending me his spyder 5 pro to properly calibrate soon. Anyways, i'm super happy with it, it is absolutely stunning and immersive as expected. For £291 I cannot fault it at all.

    It's already official.

Huge upgrade -- they fixed the keyboard, allow up to 64GB of RAM and 8TB (!) of storage, offer better speakers and mics, plus include the usual performance boosts.  Not sure how the Radeon Pro 5300/5500M stacks up, but it's an improvement.  Also glad to see a 512GB SSD as the minimum despite the prices staying the same.

An update: Apple also says there's significantly improved airflow and a larger heatsink, so those of you prepared to grouse about thermal throttling... don't!  At least, not until there are reviews.

Shops usually list it along with the other specs like frequency. If not, you can check the manufacturer's website for the exact model. And of course CPU-Z can tell you, but you'd need to install the stick first. Your screenshot shows the CAS latency for your existing RAM.

The same type of stick is the best in terms of compatibility. In theory, dual channel should work as long as the second stick has the same size, speed and CAS latency.
You should probably look at Lenovo's memory guide for compatible sticks: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/my/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-edge-laptops/thinkpad-e495-type-20ne/parts/pd014502

    get a 1660 super.
i belive that the super is going to be cheaper than the ti but since it has GDDR6 sdram it should preform very well.
if it's 5-6 of usage a laptop is definitly not something i would suggest since the upgradeability is much more complicated if it's even possible on some.
and at least with my experience and the things i've heard gaming laptops don't last as long as desktops.
but if you want it to last that long you definitly need to sink more money into your system.
i've made my desktop with an AMD Ryzen 2700x and expecting to upgrade once the next ryzen series launches along with the mobo and then upgrade gpu and ram in 4 or 5 years.
so i think it's going to be very hard for you to get 5-6 years out of a laptop (even if you spend more money)
but i hope you find something that can suit you because i don't think i can recommend anything here.
well just the tip to get one with good airflow.
heat is usually the biggest probelm on old laptops so one with great airflow and cooling will be vital
