Then this is THE channel you need: https://www.youtube.com/user/hendrickson

Which youtube channel does the best budget phone review???

I am looking for a phone that probably cost around 250 USD,

When it comes to android what kind of phone should I buy if I do not play games at all.

I am looking at xiaomi note 8 pro or xiaomi note 8.

FOr xiaomi phones, does 2GB of extra ram actually matter?

How much of a performance jump / battery life imporvement I can get if I want to install Linege OS on it?

Thanks in advance.

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

more ram is ALWAYS better. ESPECIALLY on a low end phone.

for 250, you arent getting much form the phone so anything extra will help a lot.

honestly, at that price, buy whatever you can that has the highest specs.

gsmarena.com can help you with this. <- use their phone finder.

This link can help you find a good phone in your budget. the website can set a price limit, but the slider has options between 230 and 290 so I picked 290 for you. if the phone price is too much, you can always look at the other ones.

- I watched a bunch of budget phone reviews on YouTube, and they infuriate me! Reviewers spend 1/3 of the time rambling about the specs and 2/3 of time testing the camera.

- If you're not gaming on your phone, 4gb of RAM seems enough.

- Xiaomi is killing it lately. So yeah, you'll probably be fine with any of the latest Xiaomi phones around $200 USD. Anything below that price and you're really cutting corners with much worse performance and screen quality. It looks like you did your research.

- I don't like custom ROMs. Nope! I don't know if your battery life will be better are worse! It's the same story with performance. It really depends on the quality of the ROM.

@mrchow19910319 I just saw a French video comparing the Redmi Note 8T and the Redmi Note 8 Pro. Basically, the camera and performance on the 8 Pro crushes the 8T.

And the reviewer concludes: “You better skip the 8T and spend the extra 50€ for the Pro, you’ll get a much better experience”
