It's way better than the stock cooler, and since the i5 7400 is not overclockable, it should be more than enough to keep your CPU a lot cooler and also quieter. I wouldn't really buy anything much better than that for it since you can't overclock and lower temps alone won't improve overall system performance (unless you were previously throttling.)

Honestly Intel doesn't even have that as an advantage since AMD's consumer platform goes up to 16-cores whereas Intel's goes up to 10.

Back when I built my first rig in 2013, I would've never thought AMD would have matured so much that I would actually consider them over Intel. Yet here I am, more than happy with my Ryzen 5 3600X. It's really fun to think about how the industry flipped relatively quickly.

It is a "thing" but its only for those seeking to improve upon normal temperatures, unflat IHS/cooler is not going to be the reason you are at 105 degrees celcious.

Even if a kind act is coming from an angle less than moral (lets just say when money is involved its usually not moral reasons, its for financial gain or notoriety) its still a kind act to the person on the receiving end.  I have to do things like this as a business owner and its not for the WRONG reasons, but its for better reasons than nefarious

New, the cheapest chip would probably be the Ryzen 3 1200 at $59.37 or the Athlon 200GE at $56.99 (both on Amazon US.)

If the motherboard's BIOS is not new enough (which can be confirmed by you attempting to boot it with the 3600 in), you will need a Ryzen 2000, Ryzen 1000 or an Athlon 200GE to POST the system, enter the BIOS and use the in-BIOS flashing utility. The board does not feature USB Flashback or any similar feature, so you will need a compatible CPU. I would not recommend using an AMD A-series APU, as they lose support in the Ryzen 3000 BIOS update.

AMD offers boot-kits to customers on their website, but you can also check with local PC shops to see if they can do the flash for you if you don't want to go through the hassle.

TheSLSAMG reacted to vladdeSV in Statistically, Anthony in thumbnails could increase likes per view
Hello LTT community. First post here.

I compiled a list of LTT's last ~220 videos, and gathered some statistics about them. I have found that videos which have Anthony present in the thumbnail have a higher "like per view" ratio (LPV) than the average. Higher LPV means more people who viewed the video also pressed the like button.

My data can be viewed at: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1m_oUwQ6adstLfIZI1qQPigrVnubTOhVKtSGGKs41jHk/edit?usp=sharing

Before I continue, let me make it clear that this data set only focuses on videos' thumbnails and videos' LPV. This does not conclude that videos with Anthony in the thumbnail will cause more likes (Correlation does not imply causation).

LTT's videos have an average LPV of 0.0317, with the majority of the videos' LPV being in the range of 0.02 and 0.05. Thumbnails featuring Anthony have a higher LPV than those featuring Linus (Anthony with 0.0392, Linus with 0.0310). Worth of note here is Linus is present in almost all thumbnails (180 out of 222 times, ~81% of all thumbnails) and therefore has the potential to be in more videos, which could lower the average LPV
Out of the videos with a LPV of >=0.04, 66.67% feature Linus in the thumbnail. Second place is Anthony, with 20% of videos featuring him. This is far greater than the third shared spot of Riley, Dennis, Alex, James, and Brandon, with only a percentage of 3.33%.

Out of all videos featuring Anthony in the thumbnail, circa 35% of those videos have a LPV >=0.04. For Linus, circa ~11% of the videos have a LPV >=0.04.

Thinks to take into considerations in my observation:
This only looks at the thumbnail, and does not consider the content of the video. This data represents statistics gathered at 2019-10-29. Only the last ~220 videos are taken into account. The longer a video exists, the more views, likes, and dislikes it accumulates. This is not considered. Effects of changes to titles and thumbnails are not considered. When comparing LPV, I commonly use 0.02, 0.03, and 0.04. There is no specific reason to why these milestones are used, other than they felt like natural options to me.
If any of you in the community have any input on this, any form of feedback will be greatly appreciated. I am no statistician, so If I am reading this completely wrong I would like to know ?

tl;dr: i found a correlation between having anthony in ltt's thumbnails and an increase in likes per view.

Honestly this is ironically a little frustrating since I check the comments to see what worked and what didn't, what people want to see and what they don't, etc. It's certainly flattering and honestly the positivity is part of why I'm getting more comfortable doing on-screen stuff, but it's kind of a double-edged sword from that feedback perspective.

Honestly same. I'm glad I can sort-of evoke the memory of Luke's more in-depth stuff on the channel, since that was some of my favourite content, too.

This is really the most surprising thing for me. The first time I was in a video on YouTube, I expected to get torn apart and was like "oh crap what have I done". I don't think I looked at the comments until the next day.

Actually yes... "-anthony" doesn't actually do anything. Even if it did though, the filter would mean anyone who mentions my name ends up getting cut out. So if they're talking about me having done something in the video, that comment is now hidden.

You can't. 3-pin ARGB headers are 5V with a 5V pin, a single data pin, a blank spot and a ground pin. 4-pin RGB headers are 12V with 12V, red, blue and green pins. Plugging an ARGB strip into a non-ARGB header will blow out the strip.

I can't really comment on Discord being better than Teamspeak, but I would not be surprised if Discord will radically change in the next 2-3 years.
It seems to me like Discord is struggling financially and is only surviving on venture capital right now (which is not sustainable long term). They have raised millions upon millions of dollars and soon the investors will want that money back.
They tried with the store and it flopped.

Teamspeak's business model seems far more sustainable. But preferably both will find their target audience and compete with each other.
