SnipingBow got a reaction from Zando_ in Going to buy 2 1060s
Even those are out of stock on official retailers. I don't like the idea of buying on craigslist since you don't know what the cards went through. No clue how much power they use exactly since I dont have a power meter. I undervolt mine so I should be fine.

find AMD cards, good luck since miners pay top dollar that's people are selling them for higher than retail price.

Yeah, think I said that a little too harshly... ?. I just think you should be good with 2 cards, 4 at the most. I suppose you know what you're doing though, so at least they won't go to waste. It's mainly noobs who think they'll get free money somehow and don't account for all the expenses I'm worried about.

Lol! Yes, I would agree but best price per hash as of today is the 1060 6GB or the RX 560. The 560 will produce more H per $ but the 1060 can dual mine + higher resale value when you decide to get out.
Would you like to explain why every top of the line RX card is out of stock then? Is everyone just not as smart as you?

As long as you are reusing parts here and not spending money to buy them, I would recommend upgrading to a better PSU for more energy efficiency and a few more GPUs.
I believe you can effectively put 5 GPUs on your Mobo but you will need risers as well.
For in stock GPUs, I recommend 1060 6GB if you can find them below 275 USD.

SnipingBow reacted to Mr.Meerkat in NVIDIA 960 or Radeo RX 480 for 4k?
They're both fine, it's just that there are some stupid idiots who thinks that you need a titan X for anything 4K related

SnipingBow reacted to Mr.Meerkat in NVIDIA 960 or Radeo RX 480 for 4k?
Both would be perfectly fine but why not get a RX470? Cheaper than a RX480 while being more powerful than 960 and still has more than enough power for 4K light gaming?

Do you game at all? If not then frankly, something much much lower end that has display port or HDMI 2.0 would be more than fine for watching 4K videos with (like an iGPU would be good enough for 4K video viewing).

For the record, I did provide a good mouse and your DPI setting is in Logitech Gaming Software or Windows settings. Lower or raise the DPI until it's as accurate as it can be.

Did I ask about my cooler? No I asked about my GPU. GTFO.
You both are retarded.
For the others, thanks for your time. I will fix it.

depends on what you're into.
- clicker heroes (some people are into that, yknow)
- dota 2 or LoL depending on your side of the sea of salty pepperoni.
- some people like robocraft, i dont, i'm not getting into it.
- trackmania nations forever, needs no explanation.
- the free demo of auralux is actually also really fun on a dead moment.
- openttd is an AMAZING opensource modernisation of the old transport tycoon deluxe, with a few sets of graphics options
- stepmania can be quite fun as well
- TF2 gets a worthy mention on the list as well, as long as you stay away from the same salty pepperoni sea as lol and dotka.

I always eat french fries when I play Dota and Leauge, just so I have something to go with my salt.

SnipingBow reacted to Enderman in SSD do's and don'ts
its just like a hard drive, except instead of defragging it, there is this thing called TRIM which is enabled by default and does all the cleaning you need
just dont fill up the SSD past 90%
you can read and write to it as much as you want
reads are theoretically unlimited
writes are limited but a good quality SSD will last you decades even if you write a ton of stuff to it, so dont worry about how much you use the SSD

those are even better quality
i didnt mention it though because i thought they were more expensive
but if you can afford two of those it would be great

SnipingBow reacted to Kevin_Walter in What extra fan for S340
My temps are <60c across the board under load, but I have an AMD system currently, which runs hotter than Intel.
Also, I wouldn't worry about pressure or anything too much. The front of the case allows quite a bit of air to be drawn in. I'm just running two 140mm BitFenix Spectre Pros, and while I'm sure there are better fans out there, they get the job done for me.
S340 is a great airflow case to begin with, so you should be good with just about anything.
-
SnipingBow reacted to Enderman in What extra fan for S340
yeah, or the new fractal design fans, but i think those might be more expensive
idk if NCIX has them, maybe amazon.ca does
you dont need high static pressure fans, airflow fans work fine
