Going to buy 2 1060s

This is my build :

Quote

CPU: Intel - Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: ASRock - H97 Anniversary ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Western Digital - Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: MSI - Radeon R9 390 8GB Video Card
Power Supply: EVGA - 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

Going to go buy 2 1060s, for 369$ CAD each for mining. Can my current PSU handle that? Also what kind of wires/risers do I need to add the gpus?

Don't start debating/flaming/hating on miners on this thread. Thank you

find AMD cards, good luck since miners pay top dollar that's people are selling them for higher than retail price.

Don't worry, we won't hate on you, since you're only getting the normal two cards and know what you're doing.

Probs a 1070, but IDK much about the best GPUs for mining.

I don't think you need SLI to mine. SLI is just so the GPUs can share tasks and such.

Any models? I need good luck indeed. Can't find the RX 580 anywhere. Any other viable solutions?

pretty sure you don't need SLI support if using for mining.

AMD cards are FAR better at mining etherium then Nvidia see if you can find any 480's, they aren't that far behind 580's and you may find used ones on craigslist from someone not aware of the mining craze.

I think the old R9 cards are good at mining, but they pull a ton of power. What card(s) do you have already?

I'd try with that, and see how much you can make. As you already have it, and have probs got tons of fun out of it, you don't need to worry about paying for the actual card, just the power.

Ahhh. Would it be worth it to get a couple more? Or do they eat too much power like @nerdslayer1 said? 'Cause I've seen a bunch of them floating around on Craigslist.

1060s don't SLi. You wouldn't see any gaming improvement. Unless you are mining. If so, just wait until RX prices settle way down or until Vega.

Even those are out of stock on official retailers. I don't like the idea of buying on craigslist since you don't know what the cards went through. No clue how much power they use exactly since I dont have a power meter. I undervolt mine so I should be fine.

They'll draw as much as they can physically get. Ethereum mining is incredibly stressful on the IMC and the mem chips, though the 512 bit bus and the relatively high speeds do help (expect about 25MH/s when mining Eth).

The 300 series is discontinued, you'd need to get one used. And they draw about.. 275-325W when mining.

What hashrate can we expect from the Vega cards. Also how much will they be?

Depends. I mostly say wait for Vega because (If I remember that was the new AMD cards) people will head towards those because chances are they will be more powerful and more power efficient. So people will be selling their RX cards for dirt cheap to get a new card. That's how I got 99% of my stuff. That and stealing it.

@ OP, you will need 1x to 16x PCI risers (I bought a pack of 6 for $70)

1060's get about 23 MH/s on Ethereum so they really aren't that bad, and also yes those 3 cards in total can be supported by that 750. Though if you're end goal is like 6-8 cards then you should get a 1000-1200 watt PSU
