there were some users on reddit also mentioning ekwb killed their 3080ftw

maybe RMA & try heatkiller block + backplate

EDIT: afaik only gigabyte 3080/3090 waterforce extreme is using copper block, the other 1 is alu (users reported corrosion)

The only real companies I know of that do install blocks on GPUs are the ones that do boutique builds, so Origin, Maingear, Digital Storm, etc. I doubt they will water block your specific card though, they mainly do it for their specialty builds, but I mean reaching out can't really hurt.

The problem you're gonna run into is that this is a very, very niche situation. For the most part, if you're not comfortable installing a water block on a GPU, you really shouldn't be water cooling your system in the first place. For the people that do know how to water cool yet don't feel like installing the block themselves, cards like the Hydro X from EVGA, Seahawk EK from MSI, and whatever the Gigabyte card is called exist. A company that does this exclusively would get maybe dozens of customers a year total, and so the prices they'd have to charge would be astronomical in order for it to have any viability, so they'd get even less customers. It's just not a business model that really has a chance of working.

i was hoping to keep it going until it's EOL by apple, but yeah, i think it's time for an upgrade unfortunately. the battery was replaced professionally less than a year ago, and still shows 92% life left, so i could be wrong, but i don't think the battery is the issue. thanks for the reply.

The 3950X would be your best bet for total throughput. It also is more readily available than the 5900X, and has cheaper motherboards than the 2950X.

even if it would save some money, I am not the best at fixing those kinds of things and if the fans were to fail again while it was in use that could end up killing the card entirely.

I personally don't use those items, but use some common sense, do not build in your socks standing on carpet while rubbing your feet around. Ground yourself out as often as you can(touching conductive materials, most metals).

Static WILL fry parts if it jumps to them. But in my experience is not extremely common as long as you don't doing dumb things.

I always start with the ridiculously easy things first, I've seen the cables on the back of the connector come off and cause a lot of un-needed troubleshooting  If nothing happens when he presses the power button and everything is properly plugged in, it is likely the power supply, might swap it with a known good one and try again.

If you have fans/lights spin up it gets more complicated and would need a bit more info but we can get there ?

will ask about fans spinning up.
dont really trust him to short the power pins not gonna ask him to do that. you think it5s just the button? never heard of any issues with that

I recommend tying to get a used graphics card, you'd probably be able to get a 1060 6GB for less than that.

Yeah a 500w PSU is enough to power all of that. The issue I'd be more worried about is the brand/quality of the PSU.

I've seen people hit 4.7GHz on the 4770k, with much better cooling of course. You can reuse the cooling for the CPU even after platform upgrades.

I think they have kits with GPU blocks, but for 10 series cards. You could always do a full custom loop with soft tubing, it's much cheaper and you can get waterblocks and fittings and such used. I did a watercooled build for a friend last year on a $700-800 budget or so (already had the mobo and RAM, then got an i7 6700K, R9 290/390X, I forget which one, PSU, SSD, HDD, and all the watercooling parts and a case in that budget, as well as a $99 1080p screen and such).
