Jykos got a reaction from Enderman in Generator circuit diagram question
Ok, thanks.
They are literally just coils of wire so backflow isn't an issue. Optimizing power output is however.

Jykos reacted to Enderman in Generator circuit diagram question
It would be 3v, and the current 2A, although the two generators should ideally be producing the same voltage or one can get damaged from backflow.

Yes the one with more turns will produce more current.
In rotating DC machinery, there is the concept of "back EMF". A concept you may need to refer to explain just how it will work in an actual machine.

Well a series wound motor will deliver higher voltages. But eventually those voltages become excessive.
Large DC train locomotives, for instance, will start out with their motor windings configured in "series", but will eventually transition to parallel operation to keep the voltages from exceeding limits.

Boom! Done.
I use the MX Brown variant, myself.

Jykos reacted to Rupe in Best bang for the buck headset ?
That would put him over budget by quite a bit. I would recommend the Kingston HyperX Cloud/Cloud 2 headset. Nice mic, sound quality and comfort all rolled into an affordable bundle.

Jykos reacted to Pepi28 in First mechanical keyboard, switch decision?
I doubt that you will regret buying the brown switches. It doesn't seem worth it to spend 80 euros more just for the red switches. Heck you could buy the KM780 with browns and spend the 80 bucks on a different keyboard with red switches
When it comes to things feeling like the switches, i can't really think of anything

Jykos reacted to RGProductions in [Story] Raspberry Pi Fire
mine worked fine, chargers don't have to supply all their power all the time, plus the pi usually needs close to 2 amps

Jykos reacted to W-L in How bad of an idea is it to plug multiple extension chords into each other?
Depends on the gauge of the extension cord and the run or length, but in general it's best to use one and not multiple small ones as it adds more potential points of failure.

I'd probably stop at leaving something in a bush not his car.

no one looks at what data they are recovering, just copies everything that's there and gives it to you, they really don't care about your dick pics.

Jykos got a reaction from SomethingEat in programming "bible"?
Try find a book of programming competition problems (my teacher has one but I don't know the name).
Each problem will have a point value attached to indicate difficulty. They all are based on an input and output. e.g. given simplified dna output hair color and height.
Starting with simpler ones and work through, you have to learn how to form algorithms and be picking up techniques as you keep advancing your skill boundary, using the internet constantly to build your repository of knowledge.
It forces you to learn how to use data structures and such.
It's probably the most natural way of learning to program and you'll learn techniques in both problem solving and what code.
The biggest thing to do is simply to do.

Jykos reacted to Nineshadow in programming "bible"?
There's a lot of sites with those kinds of problems though There's many different Olympiad in Informatics or ACM sites, international ones (eg. IOI, CEOI, BOI, JBOI) and others like the Polish, Russian , Croatian or Romanian one. Those usually have the problem text, solutions and official sources.
Other than those, there are a lot of sites with a huge collection of problems which allow you to send a source to get it evaluated. Codeforces, TopCoder, HackerRank, infoarena.ro , etc.

Jykos reacted to WoodenMarker in Little Red (Weeb PC)
I mentioned that this build was 'coming soon' a while ago...
I built this for my cat with a budget of $500 which included the paint, figurine, etc. These aren't updated so the EPS cable which uses a white sleeved extension and the 2x4GB red HyperX Fury sticks aren't in the photos.. I borrowed a camera for the this so I might eventually post some updated photos. The backplate was made out of handmade out poly-carbonate as an experiment but the look didn't really match.

True, a couple of tips if you want to get hooked up quicker. 1. Keep in regular contact with your ISP and Chorus depending on where you are at in the install. If something doesn't happen in the time frame they say be in contact asap 2. Write everything down that they say will be done so if they change something you have something to go back to 3. If Chorus cannot put the fibre box thing(cant remember what its called) where you want ie(next to your router atm). Run a CAT 6 cable to where they will put it so you wont get charged to run the cable or having your router in a shit location 4. If you care about your property take photos before the install as they will make a mess and it can take a while to get cleaned up ie digging up paths/grass

'back in the old days' the notfications said what user the status update is from.
e.g. "GoodUsername1234 replied to GoodUsername1235's status update" or something like that.
That was better since these notifications are actually from two different status update, but I wouldn't know if I didn't click all notifications..

There is email to talk with admins.
And how is discussing about mods going overboard in the past not talking about moderation?
