    I thought it was hilarious. Performance art at it's best.

    (But then I AM weird. I liked the new Star Wars... hated the new Star Trek and love watching films WITHOUT dubs and WITH subtitles. )

    Just checking into this since I got a PM that was concerned we were trying to conceal the Dbrand product placement and that was worried about us running afoul of sponsorship disclosure laws.Here's what I had to say about Switch Girl in response:

    Clearly we were wrong in the sense that people didn't think it was funny.

    I think I got everything... if you have any questions, ask below

    The first step is to decide what you want your setup to be, as you'll need to know how many parts to order. There is a few different options, and once you've chosen, click on the parts list for your respective setup.

    1. Single Camera w/o hub server
    Parts list: Pros Least expensive setup Cons Lower attainable FPS/res 2. Single Camera w/ hub server - *RECOMMENDED*
    Parts list: Pros allows for future expandability higher attainable FPS/res more reliable vs. no hub Cons costs more (you have to buy a second Raspi) 3. Multiple Cameras w/ hub server - *RECOMMENDED*
    Parts list: Pros higher attainable FPS/res more reliable vs. no hub Cons cost (lol, 2 cameras + hub is still cheaper than a Nest cam) 4. Multiple cameras w/ a desktop computer as a hub
    This is a setup that you can build, but I haven't investigated it yet, so stay tuned on this.
    My recommendation is to have a hub server regardless of the number of cameras to ensure the best possible image quality, but if your budget doesn't permit, a single camera w/o a hub server can still work decently.

    Click on the header for your desired setup to see the actual DIY steps.

    In a recent video on the secondary SlowMoGuys Youtube channel where Gavin upgraded the storage on his PC he added in the comments of the video that he would like to do a collab with the LTT channel and 45 Drive, am i the only person that thinks that'd be awesome? It'd add a ton of new people the the LTT Youtube channel  as the SlowMoGuys recently hit 10million subs.

    Really depends on the video type and the video length. We're using dynamic bitrate when encoding the videos so if the transcoder feels like the video needs more bitrate (e.g. CSF where there's a lot of movement) it will produce a bigger file compared to a video like TQ where the background doesn't change that much and is pretty static in comparison.

    Examples (1080p) :

    TQ: How Does Netflix Work?
    Length -> 00:06:05
    Video rate -> 1735kbps
    Total bitrate -> 2053kbps
    Frame rate -> 29.97 frames/second
    Total size -> 89.7 MB

    CSF: CSI Cutlery Investigation
    Length -> 00:07:59
    Video rate -> 3025kbps
    Total bitrate -> 3343kbps
    Frame rate -> 23 frames/second
    Total Size -> 191 MB

    So you would be able to watch TQ @ 1080p since it's only 2Mbps, compared to the ~3.3Mbps needed to stream the CSF @ 1080p

    We want to make this happen. It's still unclear how it'll work especially with respect to music licensing.

    It's possible we will have to eliminate the "download MP4" feature and force people to stream outright.. but if we can find a way to keep it, PLEX integration is something I personally really want to see.

    OS X is synonymous with macs/apple. So I don't really see the need to change it. At least not now anyways.

    b.macpherson reacted to GoodBytes in Does the Type-C standard provide power always or does it depend on the implimentation
    As mentioned by others, the manufacture needs to implement it, and how it works also depends on the manufacture implementation for example:
    Some laptop might break if you plug your power adapter on the wrong USB Type-C port that isn't a charging one Some laptop will break if you plug 2 or more USB Type-C power adapter on the system USB Type-C ports. There is no fail safe. (example: latest MacBook Pro) Some laptops have no ability to receive power. It can only send power for powered connected devices like USB thumb drives, or external drives. The amount of power that it can support depends also on the manufacture implementation.

    Carefully read the system manual (I know, I am funny), to know what your system supports or not, and any precautions.

    you should probably look  at the events before the 41 event. the 41 event is just an indicator that your system crashed, but not what errors occured before the crash. you could try repairing windows but i dunno, not enough info to judge this by.
