TheGeeker got a reaction from BoomerL4D in Buying a used 3070ti - PSU Question
Its an older EVGA one. My main PSU is a Seasonic 850w so no issue there, just that case is so large it would be a hassle to take it to test on a facebook deal.

TheGeeker got a reaction from FreeEternal in Building PfSense Router Out of an Old Q6600 Desktop!
DISCLAIMER!!! This is in no way practical, cost-effective, or reasonably logical to build yourself a router. I am doing this because I HAD a system unused and I LOVE to do these kind of fun projects. This is in No way for saving money or time!
So here it is. I was inspired by Linus's video here:
And took my plan into action after watching this:
Hardware specs I am using:
Q6600 http://ark.intel.com/products/29765/Intel-Core2-Quad-Processor-Q6600-8M-Cache-2_40-GHz-1066-MHz-FSB
Foxconn G33M http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813186125
6Gb DDR2
480w Thermaltake Psu
Intel Pro/1000 Quad Port Gigabit Nic
ARK 3U390A Black 3U Rackmount Server Case http://www.ebay.com/itm/381043264735?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Colored Cat6 Cables! Lol Love these!
I will be using this as a house wide firewall and anti virus. Maybe do some more things with it not sure yet. This will be rackmounted above my Freenas box. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/431771-my-freenas-build-update-1/
Will post pictures of my rack setup after I cable manage and get all the parts for this thing in and up and running!
Will keep this updated regularly.

TheGeeker got a reaction from J.b091 in i game on a membrane keyboard
I used a membrane keyboard for years. I then got a K70 (non-rgb) with Cherry reds on it and it makes a huge difference. My hands just feel so nice when I bottom out the keys as I smash the keyboard when I type. I just cant use a membrane the same way. It just does not feels right after using a mech for 1 1/2 years now.

Just saw this. I am crushed. Never knew him or followed his work, just one of those inspirational people of our time that has become and will be a household name.

TheGeeker got a reaction from Vandorlot in Headphones
I mostly game but after using the M40X and M50 as well as other high end ears, cant use my brothers HyperX clouds w/o noticeable difference. Also, not sure if this matters to you, but both with my Bose wireless in ears and my M40x they come as an after thought so I frequently forget to charge it.

TheGeeker reacted to Snipeon in Help with my first pc build
1. It's normal for the LEDs to light up when there's power.
2. Seems like you messed up the front I/O connectors, consult your motherboard manual.
3. It may be USB power on or something, there's such a setting in BIOS.

TheGeeker got a reaction from Drak01112 in 3-year old son's first PC build parts list
This kid has a better pc than me. So sad Linus be like Jay and build him a SIMPLE pc not THIS. WHAT IS THIS. IT HURTS SO BAD!
Sooner or later Linus's son will be a part of this forum and be into tech just as much as most of the people on here. ( And from the looks of it have some of the best specs too?)
