RoryDash reacted to Karl Sven in What new keyboard should I get?
Hi there!
A keyboard, mouse and a chair is somehting VERY personal. From hand shape to positioning...
My best tip? And what I personally did 6 months ago? Go to all the local stores that can have a good sort of keyboards (Mediamarkt and similars, I'm from sweden, so you you'll know your local vendors) and try them all.
Now if you want personal opinion my own keyboard is the Razer Blackwidow X Chroma.
And a keyboard that I like a lot is the Logitech G810 orion spectrum.
Good luck!

Simple answer is to back it now and reap the rewards of doing so with each update and the full release of SQ42 eventually. Your base price for a Ship [Incl Access to the Alpha and etc] & Game Package [SQ42] is what... 60 euro?

RoryDash reacted to dizmo in Are these PC requirements ok
You technically meet the minimum requirements, but I wouldn't expect to be playing on high.

Carpooling would be an interesting way to get to know some fellow LTTers along the way
Awesome post though, man. Glad you had a great time

@Being Delirious It was awesome meeting you! We're in the early planning stages for LTX 2018 right now so stay tuned. We learned A LOT from this year's event, and you can bet that next year is going to be bigger and better.

RoryDash reacted to Princess Luna in New Workstation for Adobe-based Video Editing and 3D
Adobe does prefer faster cores than an absurd amount of cores, not quite sure how much intense your workflow should be, the i7 8700k equals the Ryzen 7 1800x in multi-tasking and multi-thread which already is a lot... but being this a professional solution you might need extra juice of an i9 7900x which is basically a polished i7 6950x (x99's highest end chip) for cheaper.

RoryDash got a reaction from TheCherryKing in 2x Xeon E5 2630 V4 - OR - 1950x Threadripper for 3d graphics?
Because cost, Intel chips are more thermal efficient and have less power draw than a AMD chipset in general.

Go for the Xeons. That's a true Workstation-grade platform and 3D rendering favors the Intel Architecture. Don't go for a Core i9. They are overpriced and poorly optimized.

Xeon all the way, you'll find most Autodesk programs tend to prefer the architecture of Intel chips

It would be very nice if they started doing video content alongside interacting with the Forum public once again, that kind of thing is neat but lately on the videos at least even wan show they barely rarely mention the Forum at all.

RoryDash reacted to minibois in What the heck is this Sound?
Due to the way hard drives work (a spinning platter and a 'needle head'), a drive that makes this noise, will make it forever. You can minimize the sound though, through anti vibration mounts (although the sound might not come from vibration of the entire drive)
Check the health of the drive using CrystalDisk Info. If it's fine, you're basically stuck with the sound (unless you are still within returning period of course).

RoryDash reacted to TidaLWaveZ in Suggest me an x99 motherboard please!
Deluxe has 3 built in 4pin (CPU, CPU opt, Chassis Fan) and 1 built in 5pin for the included fan controller card, only 8pin power but no PS/2.
OP, really depends on your budget but X99 deluxe is the most solid board I've ever had.

RoryDash reacted to PianoPlayer88Key in case to fit these requirements?
One of these days I'd like to see a picture of a young kitten sleeping curled up on a dual or triple-fan video card (one with a backplate). Of course not while the card is under load, unless it's like one of these - a lower TDP card, not like a 1080 Ti FTW/equivalent or Vega 64.
Oh, and btw, is there a hardware switch or similar to turn off the fan LEDs (or other LEDs, other than power & HDD indicators) on the 780T? I like to keep a running list of cases I'd personally consider if I found myself needing to buy one, and I generally don't like ones that have the aesthetic LEDs always on, or require you to post / enter BIOS/UEFI / boot an OS before you can turn them off (using software instead of a hardware switch).

2560x1440 is a pretty ideal resolution for 3D Animation I find, and the amount of Photography & Video editing I would do. 4K is awesome, but IMO the BenQ BL3200PT which is a 2560x1440 monitor is pretty damn sweet
