2x Xeon E5 2630 V4 - OR - 1950x Threadripper for 3d graphics?

Hi. I am thinking about a workstation, but cannot decide. Do I go with 2x xeons (engineering sample) or with threadripper? Im mainly doing 3d modelling/rendering. Threadripper is roughly 1000USD and I can get two of those xeons for 400USD (Motherboard is kinda pricey tho)

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Xeon all the way, you'll find most Autodesk programs tend to prefer the architecture of Intel chips

Could you tell me why xeons are almost always used in professional video editing, 3d moddeling etc.
Thanks!

theyre asking either 2x xeons or threadripper, i9s are an option i guess but the 6 extra cores for the same price on amds side makes it a no brainer really

Remember that it is not legal to sell/buy Intel Engineering Sample chips ^_^

Threadripper should offer good value for you, I'd go that route TBH.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 Motherboard: MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION
AIO: Corsair H150i Pro RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic PSU: Corsair RM850x White

Threadripper - more support and just easier for you

Go for the Xeons. That's a true Workstation-grade platform and 3D rendering favors the Intel Architecture. Don't go for a Core i9. They are overpriced and poorly optimized.

Because cost, Intel chips are more thermal efficient and have less power draw than a AMD chipset in general.

Engineering Samples are fine if the machine is not your daily driver. Qualified Samples seem much more reliable. Just to be safe you should be using the retail version of the processor.
