Ffor the record, E-ATX (in any/all of its forms) are as big as SSI-CEB, and smaller than SSI-EEB. So if you see SSI_EEB listed on something like the Enthoo 719, then you know it will fit an E-ATX case, despite the garbage interpretation of the different manufacturers.

The Fractal Torrent Compact specifically specifies the E-ATX use case as 267mm, which is essentially SSI-CEB.

This last part is referring to the optional drive bay area that the Eclipse series has for their cases. These optional cages are not even included in the box and must be purchased seperately, but PCPP gives the warning anyways.

For the record; an alternate solution is using a low profile extender for the cable. I had to do exactly that for my GF's most recent SFF case because of the exact same issue:

The budget is $200 for the fans, and $200 for the case?

    USD or CAD?

Sanded. Painting some edges black. And I found a really similar wrap. ❤️

    WAY EASIER than painting. 🙂

No expensive either. - $50 out the door to over the whole case with some decent size scraps left over,

Just bought on of the last Mastercase 5 Pro's in existence. Only way I could get it was with this overdone paintjob.
Now it's my job to remove the paintjob.

This is going to be my "magnum opus" build - Not components wise, but mod wise. 🙂

    Challenge #1:
It's a hydrodrip and It feels like it might have some kind of gloss finish/polycoat on it.

I studied how to remove it from metal and denatured alcohol came up a lot, but I also read that that damages plastic.

So I'm thinking of just sanding it down with my orbital sander, but I don't want to rough up the plastic or the metal too much.

    Challenge #2:

When painting plastic and metal, how can I get them to blend well?

Here's an extreme close up so you can get a sense for the texture.

    Desired outcome:
    Semi-gloss, non-metalic black

    Source: https://colorshiftpearls.com/shop-custom-paint/candy-pearl-paint-colors/nightshade-dark-candy-pearls/

I have NO IDEA what "pearls" are though... Someone please explain haha.

    Questions:
How would you recommend removing this paintjob?
What paint and painting process would you recommend to get the metal and plastic to blend well, and to get a finish like on the car above? Will I need to rent a pro spray booth to accomplish that?
When painting plastic and metal, how can I get them to blend well?
I live in Colorado in an apartment. I have a small garage, but temps outside are like 20-45 F. Not good for painting. I don't think it's really safe to leave space heaters on in a small garage with spray painted stuff drying... Thoughts? Tips?

I'd personally take a GN case over a LTT case. Mainly because I care about airflow and not RGB, which I have a suspicion LTT would lean towards, being "mainstream".

To me the more exciting version is the Compact. It retains many of the features of the original Torrent, but downsizes  the overall space (and some storage) but keeps dual 180mm airflow fans.

    https://www.club386.com/fractal-design-torrent-compact-chassis-review/

Main differences from the Full size:
three 140mm bottom fans have been omitted entirely, leaving only the two 180mm fans. Not exactly an airflow powerhouse anymore but leaves you room to choose your own 120/140mm fans for the bottom. 3.5" drive bays down to QTY 1 (from QTY 2) 2.5" Drive bays down to QTY 3 (from QTY 4) Lower total possible fan count, but front panel is swappable with 120/140mm fan rail options.  Reduces motherboard size to E-ATX [274mm] (From SSI-EEB) Reduces GPU Length to 330mm with front fans (From 423) Reduces CPU Tower cooler height to 174mm (From 188) Reduces RAD space to 360/280 Front and 240/280 bottom (From 360/420 for both) Reduces cable space to 20mm (From 32) Price is $149 USD for all non RGB models, and $169 for RGB Models (From 199/229) Total Volume is 46.6L (From 69.7L; almost exactly a 1/3rd size reduction)

As an owner of the Corsair 380T, I'd argue that there's a lot of wasted space in cases like this compared to something like a Dancase, Fractal's own Node 202 or a Velka 5. I personally love my case and was disappointed when the Coolermaster H100 was a a poorly designed modernized version of that, The SFF market looks at these with a critical eye for size management, and typically don't care about using larger coolers or ATX power supplies when the reason they're building a smaller case is for the case to actually be smaller.
