    My friend had just finished his custom PC build the night before and when we went to school the next day the girl he sits next to said you cant build your own PC its impossible. Biggest facepalm

    That is because it has one of the CPU/GPUs that thermal throttles when it gets too hot like some of the kodi boxes.

    I actually learned through Linus. I watched his build guide for the $1000 gaming PC I believe (back when he recommended a 660ti) and from that very video, I built my own PC.

    Just looking for some funny/unique expierences with people while building their first computer. Ex: When someone freaks out if you tell them "be careful with the processor"

    When I was building my first computer (age 12 at the time), I had my dad help me with some cable management. Some of the fan cables were pre ziptied in my phantom 410, and when he clipped the ziptie, he also got the fan cable, rendering that fan useless for two years until I got a soldering iron.
     
    Oh, awhile back, my friend was just beginning the learning stages of building a computer and he took the side panel off his pre-built HP. Filled with excited curiosity, he sent me a picture of his ram and asked if it was a graphics card, then he took the cpu cooler off, rubbed his oily fingers all up in that thermal paste on the cpu, then put the cooler back on as is.

    Well I mean when I built my first PC (for a friend) I didn't put in motherboard standoffs, although that PC is still working today.
