Gibbons got a reaction from SomeCallMeJo in More Intel leaks.. this one is not good though
The Intel CEO Brian Krzanich sold as much Intel stock as their corporate rules allowed a few weeks ago.

Meh, nVidia's prices has been way too ridicolous I'm not even interested anymore in another overpriced product.

Gibbons got a reaction from Sakkura in NEW AMD RYZEN 1700X Leaked benchmarks
The leaker used really poor DDR4 2400MHz 17-17-17-39 with Ryzen which has a big impact on the Prime numbers and Physics scores.

Gibbons got a reaction from leadeater in [updated] Ryzen benchmark leaked
The Ryzen CPU is running on an A320 motherboard so no overclocking while the other CPUs are all heavily overclocked. The Ryzen chip is also using some really bad DDR4 2400 at 17-17-17-39 timings.
The graphs are poorly labeled with the stock clocks from overclocked chips.
6900k is at 4.2GHz
5960X is at 4.7GHz
Ryzen is at 3.4GHz (no turbo).
It's all right there in the OP.
The source is from Anandtech forums.

Gibbons got a reaction from SpaceGhostC2C in Intel processor architectures tested clock-to-clock in gaming - results all over the place
Haven't read the whole thread so this might have already been mentioned. The DDR3 ram and DDR4 ram modules are running at different timings so that's why things look mostly normal for synthetic/pro benchmarks but games are all over the place.

No, and you and everyone histrionically spouting "muh variables" when the original poster has clarified his variables is tantamount to spam. Read the original forum post https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/my-i7-7700k-has-arrived-insights-benchies-overclocks-inside-now-with-delid.2493250/

Gibbons reacted to Notional in Microboard Korean Curved Ultrawide 100Hz Gaming Monitor
This review is really subpar:
Freesync monitor tested on an NVidia card. Complaining about tearing, even though it has Freesync. Not testing or disclosing the Freesync interval, which is very interesting for the consumer. This monitor is supposedly based on the new Quantum Dot Samsung panel. This was not tested or disclosed. Monitor was tested with "pro" calibration tools, but not calibrated? If this was truly a QD panel, why not test the wider colour gamut? This is a half assed review, that just needed to be done, it seems. Let someone else review it, if you cannot be bothered then.

Gibbons got a reaction from Sakkura in What killed VR?
https://www.vrfocus.com/2016/10/sony-sells-50000-playstation-vrs-during-first-week-in-japan/
Over 50k PSVR headsets already sold, just in Japan.
The problem is cost. 4k monitors aren't dead because few people bought them in 2013. People are waiting to get to that magic $300 number where taking a risk on new tech can be easier justified. Some just wait until certain tech becomes available because they can't afford to upgrade regularly. VR just needs time to mature.
In terms of mobile vs desktop, Mobile VR was always going to be the lead platform because that is where the largest market is (there are over 1 million Gear VR users).

Gibbons got a reaction from Bensemus in Fable Legends DirectX 12 benchmark
The Fiji based cards don't seem to be getting much extra out of DX12 but the Hawaii cards are getting a very nice boost. R9 390 + 390x outperforming a GTX980 at $100+ cheaper?
-
Gibbons got a reaction from MEC-777 in Fable Legends DirectX 12 benchmark
I think PCPER did their own testing which shows the same trend of the R9 380/390x beating a GTX 960/980 in both frame-rates and frame-times.

Gibbons reacted to alpenwasser in Jim Keller leaves AMD - AMD claims Zen "on track"
Going by his employment history (well, at least the part I'm aware of), I just get the
impression that this is what he does. Work on a major project or two, then leave to do
something else, maybe come back later.
Zen is probably mostly done by now. I doubt it'll be good enough to get back to the glory
days of the K7/K8, but if it's decent and they don't fuck up their PR (i.e. if they manage
to get expectations in line with what they deliver and provide decent performance per
dollar and per watt) it could get AMD back on a somewhat sustainable path of doing business.
But getting AMD back into good shape instead of just survival mode is going to be a long-term
thing, and it probably won't hinge on a single engineer (although a single person in the right place
at the right time can make a considerable difference).
As a side note: AMD going under and being taken over (or just being taken over) would be a
pretty complicated thing, especially the CPU side, due to various patent licensing issues,
as far as I'm aware.

Gibbons reacted to Notional in Radeon Fury X voltage locked ?
From Gibbo on that exact page:
And furthermore:
So this is probably just a case of software not up to date on a NON released card. To put things into perspective from another user:
So really @zMeul has no evidence that Fury X is voltage locked, and his source doesn't state so either. This is just one more zMeul article trying to put AMD in a bad light.
