Fuji mirrorless cameras are pretty good. But I wouldn't use them for video, not because of their quality.  I just don't think Fuji focuses as much on video as their rivals (Canon, Nikon, Sony, Panasonic).

zenodio reacted to ALwin in how do US camera prices vary compaired to UK prices?
I guess it will depend on different camera models and price points, but for example the video camera I own is roughly $1000 more expensive in the UK, when converted to the same currency.

Edit: if I include the VAT.

Here is my thoughts about kit lenses:
Stick to them if all you're going to be doing is taking snapshots.  They're for people who buy a camera just to be able to take photos. For people who want to grow as a photographer, most kit lenses should be replaced as soon as possible.  There are some kit lenses which are exceptional, like the Fuji 18-55 I have on my X-E2.  For what Fuji considers a kit lens, it is a far cry from the 18-55 kit lens of a Nikon or Canon.

That is why having back ups is essential. We've had cases of viruses spreading throughout the network. We have a cold site and a hot site ready when everything was going to be a mess.

I'd probably get this Benro as a minimum

But if you're willing to spend a little more:

A couple of advantages these models have over the Manfrottos you're considering:
Benro ballheads use an Arca Swiss style quick release system, so extra plates for that are cheap on eBay.  Manfrotto proprietary QR plate system is usable only on Manfrotto style heads.  Area Swiss is universal and I consider them to be more secure and stable than Manfrotto or Gitzo plates. One of the legs can convert to a monopod. Both models weigh just a bit above 1KG, including the head. If you want to increase the stability of the tripod for long exposure shots, mind you that they are already stable enough for soft breezy day, just lower their center of gravity or add some weights like hanging your backpack from the center joint or lean some rocks/sandbags against the feet.

When you think about buying a tripod, here are things you want to consider:
Can they support my heaviest setup? How travel friendly are they? How tall are they at the maximum extension? How compact does it fold down to? Often the ability to support the heaviest setup and travel friendly doesn't go hand in hand.  The tripod that can support my heaviest setup is NOT travel friendly at all, but if I am working I will most likely have to take it.  But when I go out on a weekend just to take photos for fun or leisure, I carry less gear so I use my lightweight tripod or just a monopod. Think about what your needs are, you might never need the tallest tripod available or the most robust, heavy duty.  Additionally, the Benro design can be made to reach a very low angle.  Sure it might not have the 90 degree turnable central column, but I have a Manfrotto tripod with that kind of setup and I use it less than 5% of the time.  I'm not taking photos of postage stamps every day.   Think about the gear you normally use and how long you'll be on your feet with that gear in a bag on your back.  So do you want to carry a big heavy tripod or a small lightweight one?

99% of what you take, would be copyright under yourself since you are the photographer, however there are cases where you are not able o copyright a photo - its worth reading up on the subject

Don't worry, chances are he wasn't referring to you, haven't seen you around here before.
What Alwin is talking about is the endless amount of people that show up here only to ask about "The best camera for tech videos under $500" they all think they need DSLRs to become big YouTubers.
Not really sure why so many people think a $500 DSLR is better than a $500 camcorder for video, but that's what people do around here, it seems.
They also fail to realise that you won't really see much of a difference because of the bitrate limitations of YouTube.
What Alwin meant was that those are the kinda people that hang out in this section with only a few of us who are taking this seriously.

    Alright now,
You can give it a try, setting up a website or signing up for a site that can sell your images but you have to ask yourself why anyone would pay for a photo taken by a complete complete beginner when they can have a much nicer picture taken at the same location by someone that knows what they're doing.
Chances are you're not going to get anything sold for a very long time unless you start really dwelling into photography as a serious hobby instead of just using it as an extra source of income.

Also don't forget that it's healthy to be extremely critical of your own work if you want people to pay for it, it'll be better for you in the long run.

A lot of work goes into selling photos online (both physical prints and digital images) so you could potentially end up wasting a lot of time on setting this all up only to realise you're not quite ready for this yet.

There are plenty of places where you can learn more about these things, it's really as easy as just Googling it, there are also a lot of photography podcasts on YouTube n' stuff like that where they talk about these sort of things.

If you do end up deciding to take up photography as a serious hobby and you need advice about.. let's say composition or getting proper lighting in your photos, or maybe even technical stuff like if you want to know what aperture, ISO and shutterspeed means (very basic stuff so you might already know that, but you get the idea)
Then the few of us here who are heavy into photography and/or cinematography are happy to help you.

I'm one of those people.  But as KaptajnKnass said, no one is going to take a beginner seriously for purchasing photos.  You might get lucky by being at the right place at the right time with a rare photo, but that's less than one in a million chance.

Anyway, here is a Youtube channel that people who are truly interested in photography should watch and listen to.  Here is a one of their podcasts.  There are other channels too.

These are the cameras you need if you want a cinematic look.  There's no point in getting any other camera.  You can always sell a spare kidney, lung, your mom, sister and daughter (make them work at the street corner) to finance one of these babies.

You're not an arsehole, you're a realist.  Just because this forum has a section for Photo/Video doesn't mean that it's a hangout for photographers and cinematographers.  It's a hangout for kids* who repeat what they read/see online and Youtube.  Most of the commenters here focus on the specifications and technical aspects of cameras, whilst photography and cinematography is an art that requires imagination, creativity, experience, knowledge (real knowledge), observation skills, etc.  As far as I can tell, besides myself, there's probably just a handful of knowledgeable members here who try to help steer people in the right direction.

*The real arseholes are those kiddies.  A lot of them are only interested in or only know about cameras as far as their lame get rich/famous quick by making a Youtube channel scheme.
