With Razer headsets you sacrifice some audio quality for a better gaming experience. Audiophiles would disagree with me, but a Razer 7.1 headset will be the best option for fps games as you can hear opponents more easily. The sound quality is far from bad aswell like some people say. Personally I have big speakers for music as I prefer it outloud and I use my kraken 7.1 for gaming, especially counter-strike.
 
The microphone on my Kraken 7.1 is digital and the noise cancelling software is really good actually. I wouldn't recommend it for youtube commentary but it will definitely do the job and is clear and precise. The mute button is also perfect. (Idk about other headsets from Razer but they should be fine).
 
Basically don't listen to the extreme audiophiles and get a headset for gaming and speakers for music if you want a good combination.
 
Finally, for someone who is into drum and bass and 90s hip - hop I love my kraken 7.1 with the bass boost for night time gaming when I can't use my main speakers. It also allows for the option of running media playing applications in 2.1 so the driver thing you mentioned shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Well, whatever the case, I think LTT is more tolerant of idle chatter like this about vaporware than other forums. In the Steam forums (for example), I believe the mods there would simply lock such threads and warn the TS to NOT start such frivolous threads....at least, that's my impression of their mod style.

660 Ti's by themselves about 30% faster than a 660, the faster than a 690 claim is BS.

Keep your 780. Hold down your temps too. 95C for gaming isn't ideal... You gonna bake yourself in your room.

It is true that the green drives are more energy efficient but performance is slightly slower. The second generation of green drives are a superior improvement to the previous due to their larger platters and now perform at 7200rpm.
 
Blue drives are balanced and an all rounder drive. The down side to them are their capacities, as they are capped at no more than 1TB.
 
Black drives are the performance drives, give you all of the features you look for in performance and have the excellent reliability of a consumer drive and a larger cache.
 
 
For NAS functionality, WB have the Red drives which are commercial grade drives that are designed to have a low mean to fail time under 24/7 load usage.
