New Testing Methodology Feedback!

Hey guys!

 

Well I have been testing the new Seagate Desktop SSHD and I was wondering what the audience would want to see in terms of presented performance data... Who better to ask but the storage community!

 

So the data that I have is :

Average Storage Bandwidth

A general storage "score"

and individual test run times

 

what I was thinking was 3 graphs :

1 comparing bandwidth

1 comparing the general scores

and 1 with average speed per run (the X lap of every test all added together then divided by the amount of tests)

 

 

I think this would do okay but I'm interested into how you guys would like the data presented!

 

This would of course be graph overlays on videos :)

He'll probably have to go out of his way to find one since I doubt even LMG has one of those things laying around.

Well I would personally like to see the data presented in almost the same fashion as you have presented the benchmarks in your tests of graphics cards but I guess that wouldn´t be the most practical to do here...

 

Whatever it is I am sure it will be epic :D

Try to do benchmarks with any programs and detail the significance of each score or graph. That way it can reach a wider audience and make understanding the significance in performance of the drive more detailed.

A completely different thing but if you want a video idea, Intel SRT vs Asus caching etc? See which performs the best?

Could you compare the 4k random performance of the drives (Queue Depth of 1) when the cache is completely full on the SSHD and HDD/SSD cache? It'd be interesting to see how the random performance gets impacted on a heavily utilized caching solution.
