First two gaming mice ever bought in 2 yrs both don't last a year

DeViLzzz

I had a Razer Lachesis and a Logitech G300 die on me in less than a year.  I am now in the process of setting up an RMA with Logitech.  Seriously what the heck is the usual life expectancy of these gaming mice ? I am starting to think I should just stay clear of gaming mice and go back to using more regular less featured mice.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

Depends on the components used, and the quality of everything. Also depends on how you handle the mouse - example: whether you occasionally use it as a ball or a weapon.

I've had my Razer Death Adder for I think half a year and I haven't had any issues. Are you sure you aren't tugging the wire or the port you plug into isn't defective? Usually mice last for ages. At least from my experience.

I've had my DeathAdder for about a year now and it's still up like a champ. Best mouse I've ever owned.

Your experience has to be from abuse or straight up bad luck.

Well I did nothing extreme with these mice and nothing has ever been spilled on them.  In regards to the first gaming mouse I bought, the Razer Lachesis, well it just suddenly went nuts one day and would jump around the screen no matter what I did with settings and such.  It definitely was a goner.  As for this Logitech G300 well the company may be able to just repair it but I would prefer a replacement.  Heck forget the use of the G300 the color around the logo where my palm rests is already wearing off in a huge way.

That's because the DA is their only decent mouse with a reliable sensor.

I had a death adder for 4, almost 5 years and a mamba with No problems to the actual mouse (the wireless dongle broke... but that kind of think happens, bought a replacement for 10 bucks.)

I have a 2019 macbook pro with 64gb of ram and my gaming pc has been in the closet since 2018

Not a fan of Razer products, so I'm going to refrain from commenting on their peripherals. I'm using a Logitech G9 (first gen) on my 2nd rig, I've had it for, well, kind of fuzzy now, but at least 5-6 years.....still going strong, hell at FPS games like UT3, Doom 3 BFG Ed, ACm and such. Believe me, I'm an upgrade hoe, but this mouse has given absolutely no reason to upgrade as it's functioning like it has been since Day 1. While I don't regret getting a Thermaltake Level 10M mouse for my main rig, it's a tad big for my dainty hands, if I were to get a mouse now for my main rig, it'd be the G700....I trust Logitech's build quality and durability. My other mouse is a CM Xornet for my 3rd rig, it's a decent mouse meant for budget gaming.

I've been through 3 mice since 2008, I had a Logitech g3(now g300) and it was great until I wore the buttons out in 2010. Once I hit summer 2010 I bought a g5 rev 2 burnt the scroll wheel out in just over a year. Grabbed a g9x in late 2011 and its rock solid still!

I have the first gen of this excellent mouse, it's a keeper and durable as hell. Believe me, it'll last you for years......as long as you don't throw or bang on it, or otherwise abuse it, in a fit of nerdrage that is.
