Brama reacted to Imbellis in Which Laptop is better?
The ProBook has a CPU Score of 4404 (4300M CPU) while the Aspire 1 has a CPU Score of 1833 (N3450 CPU) The ProBook has an iGPU Score of 710 ( HD4600 ) while the Aspire 1 has a iGPU score of ~573 (HD500) Both have 4GB of RAM So... the ProBook beats the Aspire by 240% in CPU and by 24% in GPU. I'd go with the ProBook.
It does cost you 100$ more, but it should last longer (And you may be able to upgrade RAM later).
As for running dedicated games - it may be able to do it. I'm unsure.

Brama reacted to Anghammarad in Audio Port broke on Laptop Need Advice
It depends on what is all permanently soldered onto the motherboard. If there is nothing modular, you will get a nearly full new laptop in regard of the parts...
So the price could very well be correct.

Brama reacted to SupaKomputa in Factory Reset stuck at 34%
Oh laptop...
easiest way: pop out the hdd connect it in you pc and format.
put it back, then install windows from there.
second easy way : boot the laptop to the install disk, press install, next... next till you get to the install page, press new installation, in partition screen delete everything that you see, then click format button, select gpt (win 8/10) or mbr (win 7), click format, warning yada yada..., click ok then install windows
now your windows is refreshed back to factory....

For a quad core with HT, that's normal when streaming.
-
Brama reacted to RollinLower in CPU running 100% Bad?
well, that just means the chip is being fully utilized. the only thing you should worry about are the temps you are getting under that kind of workload, but you already said they where fine.

Brama got a reaction from General Winter in GTX 1080 TI or 1080 to save money
Sometimes = Trash and money out the window. Especially when there are games and programs that do not support SLI. Much better to just opt for a better Single GPU. Why buy a 2nd card for diminished return of atleast half it's power to in a setup that works "sometimes" ??? That's like buying Two of the same air conditioners, 2nd one works half as good as the first and it only works on "some" days

Brama reacted to TahoeDust in Best Gaming CPU currently
8600k at 5GHz under something like a Hyper 212 Evo is going to be hard to beat for the price.
-
Brama reacted to Klemmbrett in Best Gaming CPU currently
And paying a few bucks more for a 6 core 6 thread 8600K and a Z370 mobo or even a few more on a 8700K will give you a 5+ GHz monster. Even if the 8400 might be cheaper and better price to performance the OP asked:
And then 8600K and 8700K will win.

Brama reacted to Tz000 in Sennheiser HD558 Lacking Soundstage?
I have the exact headphones HD 558's open back and for first person shooters (CSGO, PUBG, ETC) they are unreal at letting me know where enemies are coming from, I can pre-fire corners because I know they are about to come around... but I have been playing FPS style games for years so I know what to listen for. You probably need to just train your ears a bit by playing lots of games... If playing CSGO - Do not use HRTF just use "Stereo Headphones" it will provide you with much more information.
I used the 558's for everything for quite some time as they were my only set of headphones but had to turn them way up in order to drown out background noise as I live in a small apartment which is annoying for people around you as they are open back and yourself as your listening experience is compromised.
To resolve this issue I purchased a set of XPT 100's which are a brainwaves HM5 replica which use the same main driver. These are awesome for when there is too much noise around you and nobody can hear anything bleeding out of your headphones.
Have you ever thought of purchasing a DAC/AMP combo? This may help depending on how good your on board audio chipset is. I personally have the FX-Audio Dac X6 and it allowed me to hear things in games, music and movies that I did not even notice before.
All that said I still prefer to use my HD 558's when nobody else is home as they do in fact provide an excellent positional audio experience and I feel it gives me an edge while playing competitively.

Checkout some reviews before purchasing anything to be sure its right for you.
Hope this helped, good luck op!

Brama reacted to Trulop in 1080ti now or wait till next gen card "1180"
Honestly a single GTX 1080TI would work fine. Of course theres always the argument, "if i wait a bit longer i can get something better" which in most cases is true, but like you said, you can wait forever if you keep having that mindset lol. You wont be unhappy with the 1080TI. Look up some benchmarks on the games you like to play the most to see how its performing and see if its to your liking. if its not quite up to snuff, then wait for the new GPU's.

the yeti is really good imo, and super easy to use. It's a mic and interface all in one small (relatively speaking) unit and no need for anything but the included USB cable.

Brama reacted to Dackzy in Recommend Good Budget Headsets?
Oh lord. Find me a flat response headphone, I can tell you right now that no sennheiser headphones has that and to EQ a headphone a lot is outright idiotic, because then you get distortion and that basically fucks up the audio quality, a EQ should only be used to do very minor tweaks. You should NEVER buy a set of headphones that you plan to EQ, at that point you should have bought a different set of headphones end of story, this is why we also have headphones that all sound different. A flat response is not important, nor is a "neutral" one, the only thing that is important is that you get a headphone that fits your taste. You know we all hear things differently.
