Id try breadboarding (google it) which will eliminate down to the exact piece of hardware causing the issue

Hope you find success and not replacement!

it'd either be drilling holes everywhere or having a messy cable going up a spiral staircase. It's my money i saved up

A new wifi card will probably help, if your current one doesn't have 802.11ac then definitely upgrade because I went from n to ac and it's pretty good.  But as usual the farther away you get the lower the signal will be so I think you're stuck until you can convince the parents to put in some ethernet cables and get that good stuff flowing.

I'm not too sure how you are going to play any of them games without a Hard Drive of some sort.

spending money on a high speed SSD for boot times is a complete waste
NVME SSDs are for content creators who actually need those speecs, not a consumer who wants 15 second boot time instead of 20

most of the benefit of an SSD comes from having programs and files on it, so instead of buying a high speed NVME drive you shoudl spend the same amount of money on a larger SATA drive

99% of everything you do will not even use the full speed of a sata SSD
so having more space is a much more important benefit

    I would recommend an 850 evo 500GB or 1TB

    I did something stupid, haha.

Recently bought a Zotac 980ti Amp GPU.  It worked fine. Gamed on it for a few days before realizing my processor sucked. So i switched my mobo to a z170 and i7 skylake.

So here's what I did wrong. The heatsink for the Zotac card is huge, and doesnt fit in my custom case I made out of steel. So I bought a Corsair bracket to utilize a Corsair Hydro water cooler.
One of the holes on the card didn't line up with the hole on the bracket. (Design flaw I think.) And the screw needs to be there, or else the card bends when you screw down the water pump to the card.
So I masked off the card, and put it in my drill press and moved the hole just a tiny bit in. From what I can tell, I didnt drill through any circuits on the card. But now when I use the card on my brand new motherboard, The monitor won't boot. (keyboard and mouse both stay lit up, and the gpu fan is getting power) I know the board is fine, because I tested another gpu on it, and tested the 980ti on my friends board. (same problem).

I realize that I probly broke it, Just looking for other possible scenarios.  You can all mock me if you wish. Thanks!

It's like trying to stick the key in your car's ignition and not getting it lined up the first time, then getting your gun and shooting out the slot to make it fit.

Personally, I've only had problems with their worthless support. Dealing with them at my work: They are a bunch of ignorant fucks, aside from a few people which have been very nice and helpful. Anytime I need Microsoft support, I just cut my losses and move on.

well i was on with MS support once and i needed to go in 2 mins , the extremely unprofessional guy, opened the tutorial on how to fix my problem on my web browser !!! after closing my tabs... then when i had to go, he says just to leave my pc with him... are you joking me ? so i said sorry no and tried to end the chat, he clicked cancel from remote desktop and asked for a minute. i knew how to fi the problem by this point... but he wouldn't listen to me. eventually i said 'i need to go and if your refusing to allow me control of my computer then i will be raising you as the problem instead of the computer' finally he let me go... not before asking me to give him a good review.

Alright, which intel driver are you taking? The INF or the Management Engine one?
To get the INF driver directly from intel:
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-INF-Update-Utility-
(if you didn't need that one, it won't actually install, it will scan your PC and determine if you really need it or not)

As for the Management Engine, I honestly can't find it. I just find stuff for the Intel NUC, Intel ComputeStick or Intel Motherboard, not for the actual "chipset".
One thing you could attempt, is to use
    http://www.driverscloud.com/en
(Make sure you have adblock enabled)
This website's scanning utility will allow you to scan your PC and find the latest drivers you are potentially missing, it will also tell you exactly which chipset you have for USB, it's possible that it's not even Intel.
I recommend just getting the Offline utility and then run "MCDetection", that way you don't actually have to install anything. I use this site all the time to find drivers and we also used it at my old IT job so I can tell you it's legit. (when it's done scanning it will open a webpage, at the bottom you will find a button that says "Find the Drivers".)

If your motherboard has dual bios, yes. Though hopefully it shouldn't mess up. After the update, be sure to load optimal default settings in the bios, and then set back your RAM timing and what not.
