FX 9590 & 9370 CPUs, Now Officially Available Through Retail, With A Few Surprises.

The AMD FX 9000 series are now finally & officially available through retail with some goodies in the package.
I'll start off the news with AMD slashing prices for its retail customers by half so now you can grab :
The FX 9590 for $389 & the FX 9370 for $289
Not only that but AMD now includes a double thickness 120mm liquid cooler (similar to the Corsair H80) with both CPUs, which increases the value of the bundles even further, effectively putting the FX 9370 at $209-$199 which is what you'd normally pay for an FX 8350.
And puts the 9590 at $309-$299 which is what you'd normally pay for an unlocked Ivy Bridge i7 or a locked Haswell i7.

Source

My personal thoughts on the matter :
I still don't necessarily find the FX 9590 to be very attractive in terms of bang for buck, especially considering you can grab an FX 9370 for $100 less and get maximum overclocks very close to what you'd get with an FX 9590.
Whats more is that the FX 9370 actually represents a tangible value now, putting it at a similar price bracket to the FX 8350 once you include the value of the liquid cooling unit, which would normally retail at $80-$90.
Now add to that the 9370's very strong performance in BF4 and you have a very attractive product here.

I also wish AMD would offer the same CPUs but without the standard liquid cooling kit for those adventurous overclockers out there that wish to deploy their own coolers.

People are weird, Intel releases a CPU with marginal performance improvements and better efficiency and people yell WE DON'T CARE ABOUT POWER CONSUMPTION, give us more performance.
So get this, AMD releases a CPU with much better performance but higher power consumption, and people yell WE CARE ABOUT POWER CONSUMPTION !

I really like the 9370, costs the same as an 8350 with the cooling, already overclocked so you don't have to fuss with anything and it's a pretty beast performer on BF4.

Can't you care about both? Sandy Bridge chips are still capable today and are only 95w.

I WANNA HAVE MY CAKE AND EAT IT TOO.

Great that this has a custom fan speed control software and RGB led to match your build's color scheme. :) Are there any benchmarks on this cooler yet or are the results pretty close to the H80?

Too hot, too high in power consumption.

Maybe if AMD purpose built a CPU rather than 'binning' chips and running them at 5ghz than I would give it consideration.

Less expensive, more power efficient, cooler running, and all around faster 2600K for me.

Still doesn't make it cheaper for me as I would get a better AIO

Most AIO coolers are rebranded oem units anyway. :P

another thing to consider is that you could get a 8320 for $145 usd and they can overclock extremelywell if you got the mobo power and cooling, i hit 4.8 on mine by raising the voltage offset +.100.  so you can get an 8320 for $145 a good 990fx board for $130 hyper 212 evo in push pull

I still don't see how though. Even at like 8 cents/kWh, you'll be paying 30 bucks a month, running 24/7

Nevermind, I'm stupid. I forgot you don't just run a computer....there's other things that take up power.

knowing microcenter theyll probably have the 9370 with a cooler for like $20

You will very likely find AMD bundles for the new processors in microcenter as well.

No they dont have the new AMD processors there i just looked it up beside they have these bundles for the 8350

Soon, I meant find them soon.

another thing to consider is that you could get a 8320 for $145 usd and they can overclock extremelywell if you got the mobo power and cooling, i hit 4.8 on mine by raising the voltage offset +.100.  so you can get an 8320 for $145 a good 990fx board for $130 hyper 212 evo in push pull

I have an FX 8320 overclocked to 4.44Ghz on a Noctua NH-C14 on the stock 1.38v, and I'm already hitting the thermal limits in Prime95, a hyper 212 evo in push pull will in no way shape or form keep your CPU Prime95 stable, I guarantee you that if you prime your system now that it will definitely hit TJ max and shut down within minutes even if you had won the silicone lottery.

So I would NEVER recommend a hyper 212 EVO for more than 4.3-4.4Ghz.

Your setup might very well be stable during gaming, but you'd be hitting risky temperatures & with more games coming out with proper 8 core CPU support you'll see much higher CPU usage & thus higher temperatures.
