New AMD Crimson drivers problems

Kyundere
Go to solution Solved by ApolloEleven,

Ok after waiting 5mins it got unstuck! Then it got stuck again (program is "Not responding"), it is now at 33%

My original post:

Mine is stuck at 16% as we speak. This is strange since other people at other forums always get their stuck at 2% or 16% too. I don't know why it is those specific percentages that the common freezes are. Most people said they waited atleast 20mins then it will get unstuck.

So yea maybe just leaving it there for atleast 20mins would help. Every 5mins it seems to progress.

I tried installing the new drivers from amd, and they don't even install properly, it starts up, then the installer just crashes after a bit

Redownload, if this doesn't help, uninstall the previous driver and do a brand new install. I had no issues with installation

Have you removed your old drivers with Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) ?

Try restarting your computer and trying again. It's been buggy for me too, Valley will crash at the end and Firestrike is unstable as hell.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

You can install display driver from Catalyst 15.11.1 only and then install Radeon Setting software from Crimson. It'll still work and you get Fallout 4 optimization from 15.11.1

Yeah, the drivers straight up don't even install properly. It gets to 2% and then the installer stops responding. I've used DDU to uninstall and restart 3 times. Since it's not working, i've reinstalled the 15.11 beta drivers i still had in my download folder.

Open Crimson, click on "Gaming" (option all the way to the left), find the profile for WoW, turn off all the shit Crimson has running. Profit

No, the one with F4 optimization.

Might want to use DDU to remove your driver and reinstall back.

So just the driver? Sucks because the fps are way up. I've been playing around with the settings trying to fix it but no luck.

Ok now im confused.....I removed Crimson and its gone from as far as I can tell.....But when I restarted everything seems fine. Im still running the old Catalyst drivers.......Was my PC trying to run two display drivers at once?

Update* Everything is back to normal now. So if I tried again would I just have to make sure the remove the previous drivers?

No, we were talking about a separate issue. Crimson has some issues with games, namely Fallout 4. I'd stick with Catalyst until it's figured out.

I went to the beta version of Fallout 4 and still have the compass problem with Crimson. I also have a problem with shutting down as I have a weird warning about a memory issue. Might go back to an earlier version myself.

Ok after waiting another 5mins from my previous post it got unstuck again and completed the install. Now it prompts me to restart my PC. So maybe do try to wait a while even if it says "Not responding" and stuck at a certain percentage.

EDIT: After a restart I can confirm the driver is installed successfully. It does take 20mins+ for some people.

I fixed that compass problem by using Catalyst 15.11.1 DLLs. Some say the problem happened only at 1080p, maybe you can try play the game @1440p VSR?

Nope, still have the compass issue. Can you use an older driver but keep Crimson?
