The Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to launch in Q1 2016

"For the Galaxy S7, so far rumors point towards the Exynos 8890 and the Snapdragon 820 coupled with the Exynos 7422 (for select markets) [...] The Galaxy S7 has also surfaced in several benchmarks already, some of which show a commanding lead over the Snapdragon 820, Qualcomm’s processor for 2016. In fact, the Galaxy S7 has also surfaced with Samsung’s custom Mongoose M1 cores, which prove the Korean electronics giant’s hardware mettle once and for all, at least allegedly."

Also, the Samsung Galaxy S7's rear camera will be 20MP and will feature Samsung's ISOCELL technology.

 

In terms of multimedia, it will have a ESS’ Sabre 9018AQ2M headphone amplifier solution and 2 channel D/A audio converter.

 

"The 9018AQ2M comes with a host of impressive features on board which include harmonic distortion support of up to -120dB, power consumption lesser than 40mW and SLIMbus among others."

All I'm going to say is that this isn't going to be cheap. Like usual. Nonetheless, I'm not buying it because I'm not a big phone user.

I don't really see the point in upgrading the audio of a phone if you barely use it. Honestly, if you're going to have this phone, you're going to be using earbuds most of the time, because if you can afford this phone, chances are, you have some earbuds.

I still don't know what those white bands are on the button but it makes it look identical to the iphone

Those are antenna bands. Aluminum blocks signals so without those plastic bands you wouldn't get any reception.

 

 

The price of phones have gone too far. It will be interesting to see how well the custom CPU cores do, but unless the S7 is significantly cheaper than the S6 I won't be interested.

Also, give me back my removable back and microSD card slot!

As long as they deliver performance similar to the A9, and make the glass and aluminum sides seamless like the iPhone, I'm sold.

imo, 4K recording is just a gimmick cause it's not going to look as good as actual 4K video and high bitrate 1080p will look as good. And you usually have to lower the resolution to up the frame rate anyways.

I still don't know what those white bands are on the button but it makes it look identical to the iphone

The bands are breaks in the metal where the antenna sensors are. Helps the signal output and reception.

I run my browser through NSA ports to make their illegal jobs easier. :P
If it's not broken, take it apart and fix it.

Eh, I wouldn't listen to any of these specs. Chances are we'll hear them change 10 or 20 times before the actual release of the phone.

Phone rumors are by far the worst, and yet people seem to believe them all. Makes me laugh.

 

 

Did not know that you need two quad core processors for drawing dicks on the notes app, selfies and instagram. 

 

Ah wait, those last two i've used to describe the rumoured iPhone.

 

Struggling to think what the average note user does that involves the pen.

I use mine for the little jotting feature they have when the screen is off, highlighting mistakes on my GF's essays she writes and has me edit, highlighting text in the browser, etc etc.

It's a lot more precise than a finger. Especially for me, since my fingers don't generally like touch screens.

 

 

The price of phones have gone too far. It will be interesting to see how well the custom CPU cores do, but unless the S7 is significantly cheaper than the S6 I won't be interested.

Also, give me back my removable back and microSD card slot!

I really hope we see them bring back the microSD card. I think they will. It's likely part of their marketing strategy.

"Hey, we didn't have too many new features this year, but look...we brought back the microSD card slot!"

it depends on what you are saving and how you use your phone. Saving pictures to the cloud is very useful. Also videos and documents. Movies are different. Also, have you heard of wifi? Go on wifi and download a movie or show or just stream a movie or show. Many are using things like Netflix anyway and not buying full movies or shows.

I really hope they ditch the glass back from the S6. That is the one part of my S6 that I hate with a passion, the phone slides off of every surface imaginable.

Also I hope they don't make it bigger, if they do increase display a bit at least put it in same frame.

It's either you're stuck with something that's garbage (compared to the new one) or the stale mess that Intel has at the moment where the most exciting thing is their igpu.

ha OK! Here we go into this long pointless conversation but I'll do it with you.

 

If you are traveling and know you won't have wifi much, you make sure you download what you need before you leave.

Oh sure, you may not have enough storage on your phone. Well, either you suck it up and deal with it and find wifi in different spots like at a hotel, store, or restaurant ORRRR you buy a wifi enabled hard drive that you can take with you to store your movies and such on that. Then, you just connect directly to the HDD instead.

 

Now, if you are downloading and uploading things from cloud storage, yea that does take a bit of data. Thing is you are connect to the internet and can simply view them without downloading the whole image. Steaming photos doesn't take much data. That's why you use it. No one is downloading and uploading back and fourth all the time. You mostly stream. Photos don't take much(especially since you aren't viewing the high detailed version) data to stream and for videos, you probably either shouldn't watch them with your data and wait for wifi or sacrifice some data. If you're going cheap anyway then you probably are going to just wait.

 

Also, you can just put the stuff that you don't need on your phone in the cloud to save space. Then you won't be going to cloud as often.

 

In life you have to sacrifice things especially on a tighter budget. Like I said earlier, you can get a wifi HDD as well if your phone doesn't have expandable storage. Plus, you can store almost all of your data you want to travel with in a HDD. You can't with a micro SD card that only goes up to a max of 128gb.

 

Yes, cloud storage is a very viable option especially how nice it is to have your data anywhere you can connect to the internet, and with data that is in a lot of places. There are benefits and drawbacks of any kind of storage option.

With a wifi HDD it has a lot of storage and can go anywhere with you BUT it has to be close to you to use it and it runs on a battery that can drain.

Cloud storage can go anywhere that has an internet connection. It is not tied to once device and can save a lot of space on your own devices. You do have to be connected to the internet and it will use some data if it's on your phone especially if you are watching videos or downloading stuff like a video from your cloud storage.

A micro SD card expands your phones storage so you can add a lot more data, but apps can run clunky on it (yes they can but maybe be fine), you get up to 128gb of storage, storage is only local and you must transfer the data in some way to other devices (the other options are easier to get on other devices), you can just pop the micro SD card into another device as well if you want to use a different device but the device does have to support the it and there are plenty that don't such as some phones.

 

There is also $$ to think about.

 

We can go on and on but cloud storage is very viable for a lot of things especially photos and documents.

I still don't know what those white bands are on the button but it makes it look identical to the iphone

So the wifi/cellular/NFC/etc antennas can actually get a signal. Exactly why the iphone has the plastic strip
