What Call of Duty Black Ops 3 BETA usage looks like on my rig.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

This game run at 160FPS on my system; however, I had to disable Amient Oclusion, Dynamic shadows and lower the texture to Medium. My 760s vRAM usage is above 2GB, and anything over 2200Mb will cause really annoying stutters. Kinda sucks since my system can handle it, even with my FX-8320, but the vRAM seems to be the bottleneck. My FX-8320 is very well utilized in this game.

RAM usage hits 7.2GB.

What a shame, more and more each day 2gbs of vram becoming a bottleneck. Can't wait for 4gbs to become the next bottleneck :D

Yeah it really sucks. The game is in beta with no optimizations so we can only hope it lowers itself!

I cant even play the game. When I start a game, i have like 3 seconds before it freezes, and in task manager my cpu usage is 100% with cod not responding. never checked my gpu usage though.

I plan on upgrading to an i7 next year. I've had this 8320 since 2011. Bought this 8320 for $110CAD.

Disable dynamic shadows, ambient occlusion and lower the textures down to high. Those options really effect performance and cause stuttering. Your rig should run it.

3 seconds though....

Lol, the vRAM isn't the bottleneck its the CPU.

Lol, the vRAM isn't the bottleneck its the CPU. You need to get to at least 3.5GB of vRAM usage to even get chance of the last 512MB being a problem. And the drivers negate that anyway due to the way the last memory segment is written to and read from.

My GPU only have 2GB vRAM. Changing the textures does not affect my  CPU usage at all. Just my vRAM. It wouldn't start dropping from 160FPS to 30FPS if my CPU was a bottleneck. Game is also poorly optimized at this point.

My setup manages to sit on about 120FPS constant, however I didnt check the use of VRAM or CPU.

Would be interesting to view your vRAM usage.

I run the game fine having the FPS constantly around 60 to 70 FPS. I also remove the stutter by having Paging File at 10000MB on my SSD.

Edit:

Highest settings on 1600x900 and Textures at High. Since I don't see any difference between Extra and High usage of VRAM and Paging File.

Its not about the CPU usage but the GPU usage. If the CPU wasn't a bottleneck then they'd both be at 100% usage. Also the FX series is old and was slow even when it launched (And worse for games than the older Phenom II at launch as well).

CPU is the bottleneck according to those graphs.

That doesn't really explain the huge dips when higher textures are enabled even if it was a CPU bottleneck because I was hitting high frames, and generally higher textures don't effect the CPU much. The GPU is not at 100% usage because of optimization issues and hotfix drivers. The beta is over now, but with one GPU it was a similar usage story. Even in the menus the usage was the same for some reason. You see it hit 100% usage when I enabled Ambient Occlusion...

Don't ask me why Ambient Occlusion pushed the GPUs to 100%. I disabled it after noticing a weird latency issue. It wasn't lagging, but things were delayed. Yes the FX-8320 is OLD as balls haha. I bought it when it was first released for $100 or so. 160FPS could also be the max FPS the engine can handle, but who knows. I'll repost usage statistics when it's released with proper drivers!

Don't think a CPU bottleneck would drop frames and stutter like it did.

Either way, according to this beta 2GB vRAM is no longer enough. I'll probably survive for two more years before I rebuild everything.

Black Ops 3 ran fine, only at 1440p. When I tried 4K my GPU died... even with everything turned down. So I dealt with 1440p, could max it out with 60fps regardless of what was on the screen. BO3 kinda was a pain because of the mouse acceleration you couldn't change.

There was two sliders for acceleration and smoothing. After that I didn't notice any

I can run gtav and the witcher @60+fps running at 1600x900(all options at mid), but with the beta i could hardly run it at hd with all in low and no aa, and even then it dropped constantly to 10s or low 20s for 1 to 2 seconds, then back to 60. It's annoying as hell, and even more in a multiplayer game, because the drops are ussually when more objects or effects appear, wich is usually when you're facing an enemy or in open spaces when you've got to watch for players all pcer the place. Needless to say the stuttering and fps drops got me killed 90% of the times i died

I can't run it....
It was so stuttery and constant 25fps.

Idk what was going on? I get 57-60fps ib witcher 3 ultra at 1440

Higher frame rate over higher resolution.
