Deathadder good for a first ergonomic mouse?

Metallic Fear

i have never used an ergonomic mouse in my like and usually, there was a big gap between my palm and the mouse. I tried the deathadder for the first time and it felt like my hand was stuck to the mouse. Im not sure if that is a positive thing or a negative thing. I was gonna get Corsair M45 but i cant decide. Which one should i buy.

P.S. My brother has a deathadder without the side buttons. If im gonna get a deathadder, ill prob get one without side buttons since i believe they will get annoying cause ill never use em. Are there any disadvantages to ones without the side buttons? like the sensor quality, etc

The number one thing I can recommend you do, if amazon allows it where you live, order all the mice you are looking at and try them all out, see what one fits you well. If you cant do that see if a computer shop near you that has a half decent selection of mice and try them all in your hand.

Depends on your mouse grip, palm, claw, etc

you need to get a mouse that fits your grip style

There's also a hybrid grip, that can be a mixture of any two of the 3 of theses.

The Deathadder is a brilliant mouse. It sells extremely well and you really cannot go wrong. I believe it's the best value mouse on the market, just ahead of the Logitech G502.

Need help with the RMA/retail side of things? Feel free to send me a PM, always happy to share my industry experience with others.

Deathadder is made ergonomic by the fact that it should fit your hand like a glove if you have the right sort of hands. Who knows, maybe the Mionix Naos 7000 is more an ergonomic shape for your hands?

Also, if you must have the Deathadder then I suggest buying an extended warranty. Just my general recommendation for Razer products.

The M45 has a very different grip than the Deathadder. The Deathadder has a better sensor. Having the side buttons only means extra functionality. If it were my money, of those two I would buy the M45, but it's made for a very specific type of grip.

I owned two Deathadders between 2009 and 2012. Both died. Specifically, the left mouse button stopped clicking. Audibly it kept clicking, but no event would register with the computer. What made this problem worse was that the mouse would just sort of 'break' when it phantom clicked. Meaning clicks would happen when you weren't' doing anything, scrolling wouldn't happen because it thought the button was pressed, or rapidly being pressed, other buttons wouldn't work because of multiple inputs, etc. I RMAed the first one, but paying $13 in shipping charges on a $16 mouse ever year is...an exercise in futility. Each mouse only worked for approximately one year.

I HATE logitech mice, but after the second deathadder broke within a month of the warranty running out I said 'nuts with it!' and gave the MX518 a try. I've had it for about 4 years now and it still does everything I ask it to without complaining. It does have the much dreaded 'logitech freakout' problem where if you move the mouse too fast it loses tracking lock and your mouse cursor goes haywire (Razer mice do not have this problem, at least to the point that I can't make it happen with them and I can with Logitech) so I've learned to become a 'high sens' gamer to compensate. Relearning how2mouse was worth not having to spend money constantly on a poorly constructed product.

Don't buy from them, but if you're near a Best Buy, go there and feel the mice they have.

One by me actually had a decent selection of Logitech/Steeleries/Razer mice.

I've had a Deathadder for about 2 years now and only have one complaint. The scroll wheel is loose on mine and it makes a ton of noise when you use it. And if you have big-really big hands it might not be the best mouse for you.

I have a deathadder 2013. I play a game that requires frequent clicking of the middle mouse button. 3 months later, it no longer scrolls. I've taken it apart and a stupidly tiny plastic cog connected to the wheel snapped off over time. I wouldn't fault this on the game, but the terrible design flaw from Razer. I've tried fixing it but failed.

What i don't like about the mouse:

• The razer logo led which you cannot set to be constant, but is always pulsating

• One side of the mouse wheel is illuminated brighter than the other

• the mouse wheel has to be clicked slightly sideways to the right

• The mouse wheel sounds different and cheap when scrolling up

• Razer Synapse is great, but terrible.. It does almost everything you want, but it has to be running to keep preferences

• It's overpriced to hell. I bought a brand new official Chinese branded one off ebay for £36. I wouldn't pay more than that

What i do like is how light you have to press the buttons and the weight is nice and light.

If i could get the perfect mouse, it would be the deathadder, OPTIONAL use of razer synapse, fix the terrible scroll wheel and have extra buttons for added functionality.

everything that u dislike is all true. dunno about the price tho. i bought it on 60 sec sale soo i bought it for ~$1

The only one I noticed was the mouse wheel sounding differently when scrolling up...and Synapse being shit but yea.  I also have a Chroma, not the 2013 edition (and the chroma fixed things on the 2013).

Also 36 pounds for a chinese branded one?  I got my Chroma for 50 dollars, how much does a Deathadder cost in Britain?  If it's 50 pounds that's really stupid.
