I think I've just found the case for my server build...because daaaaaym son, that is one sexy case!

Yeah it's a lovely little thing. Not what I would normally use but this time around I'm going to keep in as minimal as I can. No windows, nothing on the exterior other than the vent.

I might fit two slim fans on the outside of the case under the stand part but I'll do my best to make sure they're out of sight. It's going to need more airflow than just one 120mm fan pulling that's for sure :)

Do note though you do need a SFX PSU, but you can get a decent 350w one for around £40 or so (BQ make one). I need the 500w so I'm looking at £80 which stings a little but then I need it portable.

Mainly for gaming but I do a lot of vector art for work and it uses DP. So it's nice to have it and let's face it, a Titan Black is more than enough for any game at 1080p

Which software do you use? I'm curious what use DP would be for vector art. I used to think DP was useful for my rendering work until I looked closer and realised it only used single precision.

It's private software mate.

Erm. How best to explain it without breaking NDA. I work for a company who works for the gambling industry. That's about as far as I can go.

Next time you're in a betting shop or casino take a look around I might be in there somewhere ;)

The results will be my fapping material. It looks sexy, plus in the hands of ALXAndy it will be more sexy.

I sort of expected as much. Sounds like poor software design to me if it's genuinely vector graphics. DP is completely pointless for graphical work for the most part. One just doesn't need that level of computing accuracy outside of complex physics problems (like CFD, protein folding etc) or other very very low margin of error situations, of which graphics aren't one. Obviously you're just working with what's been provided, just feels odd that the original software programmers went that route.

Coders are a strange bunch mate.

I knew one once who collected Ty Beanie babies :D he had hundreds of the bloody things.

Morning update. The dinoc came so I set about sorting the back plate.

Sadly the blade in the plotter is dying so the black part was ruined. Not a problem I can add it at a later date once I order a new blade :)

Afternoon update. So I have received some cash to get things moving along. First up I ordered this.

case_zpsnvvnwkyq.jpg

One of only 4 that exist in the UK ! I then ordered this, this should get it moving along fine.

strider_zpsodwemuez.jpg

500w Strider SFX.

Then time for some fans. Now if you look at the case you will see there is a gap in the bottom section. Well, I want some fans on the outside of the case mounted over the fan filters to draw air in and send it upward. So I bought two of these.

fan_zpsk1zc15ti.jpg

Basically 120mm slim fans. Now I needed paint. So I ordered top quality given I will only need one can.

black%20paint_zpsfgfolwjk.jpg

And some Montana Power Green.

green%20paint_zpsrctnrpi9.jpg

I doubt any of you will remember, but Nfenix was painted using the same colour. It's amazing paint with a gorgeous finish.

loon1.jpg

And a full case paint.

teaserrightside.jpg

This time I only need it for fans and small parts.

I also ordered this, which I'm hoping doesn't break and can make my life a little easier.

modkit_zpsondadrmr.jpg

And finally some silver grey fly screen material. I will use this in place of the existing case filters as it's higher flow and will suit the colour scheme.

grey_flyscreen_material_med_med_zpsjh13x

That should keep me busy for a while. Next up - prepping and painting the Mayhem fan guard.

Yeah there was only 4 left. Now there's three and there's only one distro in the UK for this particular case.

Just glad that's done. Would have been gutting to find out that there were none left and would have had to change it. Wanted silver but sadly they don't do the silver one with the GPU mount :(

I have the Portrait. Simply because if I wanted anything bigger I can either rotate it and get the full length of A4 or, cut the graphics out of two pieces.

So far (and I've used it on three computers now) A4 has been more than enough.

Just know the blades don't last terribly long and they're quite expensive. There is a dude on Ebay selling a blade holster made from billet that uses cheaper blades so that's how I'm gonna roll.

Time to sort out the cooler. First up remove the fan mech.

DSC00665_zps4rkj3uwq.jpg

And clear..

DSC00667_zpsevlkkbgy.jpg

Then remove the decal from the top using the heat gun.

DSC00668_zpskrcaoo83.jpg

Stick down.

DSC00669_zpsqv1utcex.jpg

Cut out.

DSC00670_zpsmgz64zqw.jpg

Flip.

DSC00671_zps68dtf4t8.jpg

And fit.

DSC00673_zpsdxbxdye3.jpg

Now for the fan. Sadly the decal on here was paper and even with heat broke up and got all gunky. So I used my TIM cleaner to get the crud off, then back to the old school to get the right sized circle.

DSC00675_zps18tzsihu.jpg

And a short while later.

DSC00677_zpske3iqn34.jpg

I've also fully sanded (took ages gees, the back side of the grill was awful !) and acid etched the fan grill so I'll up some pics of that later.

Not painting the RAM? Mind you, you won't really see it often but it'd still be cool!

The ram is silver. The build will be all of the Titan Black colours so silver black and green.

I've got some silver vinyl on order.

Just got notified the case will be here tomorrow.

Orsum.

The fan grill is now finally in acid etch primer, so that's ready to be painted black.

He's using it for vector art, and he needs the Titan for double precision

I encode a lot of vectors using an app that's been optimised to use DP. Don't blame it on me blame the coder who wrote the software ;) he swears it's faster..

For gaming I am only going to be using it initially for a 12th Fallout 3 full playthrough, followed by a New Vegas playthough (number 8) and neither want more than two cores. They do, however, use up a lot of VRAM when heavily modded so the Titan is perfect for that.
