Samsung or Crucial SSD ?

NighhhT

I guess this question is pretty common, MX100 256GB or 850 Evo 250GB ?

MX100 is ~ 10 U$S cheaper here (my country), and has MLC nand.

850 Evo has 3d v-nand (???) and samsung magician (which seems to be a great software) and better performance.

The thing is, I've heard about the 840 evo slowdown problem and I'm wondering if the 850 has the same problem.

I know that Samsung is better. They make better SSDs and you will be happy plus they have great warranty if you aren't happy

850 EVO. Normally the MX100 is a lot cheaper than the 850 EVO and that makes it worth it..

With such a small price difference, the 850 EVO is certainly better!

Between the 850 EVO and the MX100, the 850 EVO is better. However, in most countries the MX100 is cheaper making it a better price to performance offering.

To my understanding the Crucial M550 is better than the 850 EVO, especially once the 850's turbo cache is depleted. It's worth checking the prices for a 256GB M550.

Samsung stepped their game up with the EVO. I've been throwing EVO's in my non-work machines and they've been great.

Both will serve you wonderfully, but the 850 evo is going to get you more support in the future and has a much bigger user base :P pretty popular drive and slightly faster, keep us posted!

I have a Crucial MX100 128GB, and it works fine.  Get whatever one you like the best.  They are pretty close in performance I believe.

all storage devices will show less capacity in software then advertised, so getting that amount is normal

as for the speed, it seems great (considering its an 850 EVO). If you've noticed, the read speed is 3Mb faster then the max (:P).

Quote me if you want to say something. Only way i'll see something.
