Ideas for a $2000-ish gaming laptop?

Go to solution Solved by minibois,

I think the battery life averages at around 3 hours. At least from my experience with gaming laptops.

Well 3 hours with gaming I guess?

I hope it has more than 3 hours for 'regular' stuff (Word, Programming and such. Not GPU or CPU intensive stuff)

I'm looking at the MSi GT70 2QD, I just wonder about the battery life, can anyone share some experience with gaming laptops and battery life?

Or suggest some laptops?

No real budget or specs in mind.......GTX 970m? 17" Screen?

Thanks :D

The only good choice for high end gaming is Asus Rog G751 with 980m in my opinion. It's quite thick but its cooling for cpu and gpu can't be matched by any other laptop out there - very quiet as its using larger ticker fans in comparison to thinner laptops with 970m/980m expect them to be loud as jet engine.

3 hours with basically doing nothing. Not only are the batteries smaller than in more battery life oriented machines, but also the parts in there need more power, even if not under load.

I once had one of these, now I've got this.

  • 2 months later...

The MSI GE70 is quite good and the Razer blade is a nice premium laptop.
