looks like GOP has won their battle against Sony. To bad the damage they have done is irreversable.

This comes after several of the largest movie theater franchises said they would not screen the film.

Screw the hackers they are nothing but empty threats. I honestly want to see this movie and if the so called hackers want to come to my house and mess with me they got a big surprise waiting. Us rednecks out here where i live dont take to kindly to people threatening us so they would be stepping in the wrong back yard. Just think the original tremors movie "broke into the wrong gosh darn reckroom didnt ya"

Honestly at this point they might as well release the movie for free on the internet, cancelling the movie won't get them any of the money they lost back anyway. It's sad that people like these hackers exist, they make my faith in humanity dwindle. If I could I'd smack them square on their face with a noctua nhd15, but oh well.

Yeah, there's NO WAY the hackers would be able to remove it if it becomes peer to peer ^^ once it's on torrent there's no deleting it, ever.

Wonder if the hackers could threaten hosters of the movie somehow?

 

I'm thinking of ways that Sony could still release the film to a wide audience and still make money without it hitting the theatres. Maybe an opportunity to try something new to cut into their losses.

 

All-in-all a difficult decision. In the end, the movie was scrapped because the theatres didn't feel it was safe to screen the film. What else could have Sony done?

This movie looked amazing. It sucks because my Aunt has to change all of her personal (SSN, Bank stuff, etc.) info because she worked for Sony Pictures.

That was just the New York premier, the film has now had all it's premiers cancelled around the world.

Well, the hackers have beaten Sony. Sony gave in, now the hackers are practically in charge. I really hope Sony will push this movie straight to DVD,Blu-Ray,On-Demand, what ever means.

Unfortunately I'm afraid they got a lot closer than nearly. Sony was already not swimming in gold, this might have been the finisher. We'll have to see what happens in the next few months, but I'm afraid if the third spider man movie doesn't fix the mess sony pictures (if not the whole sony) is pretty much dead.

I just wish they still made top notch tvs and home theater setups it's not like their tvs are bad now, but they tend to be more expensive than the competition without a real reason...
