Nvidia GTX 990 and Titan X

Epic news from Nvidia. As you know 980/970 is already out and going to be shipped in October. They use GM204 chip, but now let's talk about GM200.

Key features GM200 chip:

• 10-15% bigger than GK110 (551mm2)
• 2816 CUDA core, but first gen won't have all active SMM in chip
• 384 bit or 512 bit memory bus
• 990, Titan X and Quadro will come out at the same time
• Release is in Q4/2014
• Titan X will have 40-50% more power than Titan Black!
• Chip is 28nm based

Core clock should above 1GHz and boost up to 1,1GHz. Release is unknown, probably it can be around December. In Q1/2015 GM204 will have refresh and new process 16nm? Anyway source says that GM200 will come to market in Quadro only and game version will come out later next year. Maybe there will be GTX 990 with two core GM204. 

 

I know, very unclear info and speculations, but I can say that this site had great info about GM204 - 980/970 before their release.

I can only imagine the power of a maxwell gpu the same size and core count at gk110. I hope they come out with a single gpu based on the 210 however as the 990/Titan are both probably going to be 1000 dollars

Unfortunately, GM210 is at least one year away form release.
