How to Download Lossless Files from iTunes

Go to your iTunes library

Go to Preferences (Ctrl + ,)

Go to Import Settings...

Change "Import Using:" to "Apple Lossless Encoder"

Once you've pressed OK in all of the previous windows, highlight the songs you want to be lossless, right click and click "Create Apple Lossless Version"

The songs will be in .m4a format, but they will be lossless.

The songs will be saved in this location. (May vary depending on how you've set up iTunes) This window is Preferences\Advanced

I would if i want my music to be lossless. how in the world does it hurt to have more tutorials. 

 

@Lanoi I dont personally, but i have quite a few friends that use itunes. Will probably show them this. and nice music choice! :D

If the songs are actually from Itunes then it's actually lossless.

The music won't be lossless anyway if you are creating a lossless version because it has already been compressed, so all it really is is placebo and a waste of space imo.

i'm pretty sure its just upsampling. and not real lossless. i'm too lazy to run the test on the files tho

Well this only makes sense if you're gonna do it with files that actually have the quality like when ripping a CD...

Uhm... you cannot convert lossy files into lossless. :o
