I use these over the ear Kassette headphones from Eskuche, they are really good for sound if you like lots of high notes and acoustic as well as gaming. Fair warning they also play anything you are listening to around the general vicinity at a listenable volume so not the best porn headphones.

Astro A40's if you want "gaming"

Beneath this mask there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof.

As I get older I get angrier more cynical, meaner. I feel some warning posts coming. I feel a ban coming. I was warned.

The m50s's have a straight cable but are the same thing. I have those.

Sure there's no mic, but they're awesome. Just get a standalone mic, or do the crazy thing I did and get one from Shure for around $100. Not really cost effective, but the headphones sound great and so does your voice.

You haven't said your budget yet over two threads. If money is no object for you - go straight to Stax, you can't get better, but they come at a price.

What are those overexpensive common species you call 'Gaming headphonessets'

Anyways, as said above, don't buy any of them

Do you want to use these with PC and consoles?

If you only want to use them with a PC, then don't get a headset, get a good pair of headphones and separated a mic.

If you want to use them with PC and PS4, ALSO get headphones and mic.

If you want to use them with older consoles or xbone, then yeah you gonna need a headset.

Mystery is the source of all true science.

Sennheiser PC 350 SE, PC 360, PC 363D. I still believe in a headset.  At least this way they know their audio and how to make it.  Grab one of these and an Astro Mix amp if you want to PC one moment and Console then next.  I have the PC350 SEs. Their good.

The Siberia v2s are quite good for the price if you want a gaming headset. The Logitech G35 or G430 is also good, but the G35 can be quite expensive some places.

Are those your only options?  Only one I've used were Razer Kraken 7.1's which sounded good to me.  You either like the rumble of the bass they have or don't.

Something from Sennheiser's range would be good. I own a pair of G4ME ONEs and they're great!

It's funny how the audio subforum tells people who want headsets to post here, when the people here also don't like headsets.
